I'm very appreciative of everything Dwight's done for us since his return, but I am MUCH more confident having 27 year old Damian Jones in that role.

    2022-23 Lakers:

    PF Anthony Davis
SF LeBron James (36% 3-pt shooter last 2 seasons)
    C Damian Jones
SG Joe Harris (career 44% 3-pt shooter)
PG Kyrie Irving (41% 3-pt shooter last last 3 seasons)

PF Carmelo Anthony (minimum) (38% 3 pt-shooter last season)
    SF Stanley Johnson
    C Thomas Bryant (minimum)
    SG Austin Reaves
PG Kendrick Nunn (38% 3-pt shooter in 2020-21)

    G Lonnie Walker
    F Troy Brown Jr.
    C Dwight Howard (minimum)
    F Juan Tascano- Anderson
    G Max Christie (R)
    F Wenyen Gabriel

*Lakers trade G's Russell Westbrook and Talen Horton-Tucker and 2023 2nd round pick+ 2027 1st round pick for G Kyrie Irving and F Joe Harris

NOTE: 3-pointers made per game last season (they played): James (2.9), Harris (2.9), Nunn (2.2) and Anthony (2.2)

You pull this trade off and 3-pt shooting won't be a problem.....

Defense is still a glaring issue. Walker was one of the worst defenders in the league last season

Iffy? That’s being kind. Results have been terrible so far and Lonnie can’t shoot.

So you lost an athletic, shooter for someone who has a bigger wingspan. That’s regression and disappointing to me.

As currently stands we have 2 spots left?
I'd try and get Boogie or Thomas Bryant for one spot. And a 4/5 tweener with the other.

you mean monk? i wanted to keep him (and i actually think their wingspans are the same, lol). but he signed for more, as has everyone else so far.

i guess danuel house went for less, but he's got no room to grow.

my vote is cousins. would like the variety between him and jones.

Malik took the money, can't blame him, but I doubt we chose to sign Walker over Malik.

There definitely must be a trade coming. Jones is good as a replacement for AD or as his back up, but both need to be surrounded by shooters. Walker, Brown and JTA fill our need of speedy, athletic, young players but they are not really shooters.

THT and walker are of roughly similar size but are very different players. i think both can play bigger than their height, too.

in a league where everyone's gaga over draymond and pj tucker at center, there's room for creativity.

but yeah, walker's d has just been dog****. and that's...a big concern.

Jones is a version of McGee. He is a good lob threat. If we can get some shooting we can be solid with Jones starting at center.

Jones was actually very good for the Lakers: he's not a good rebounder but you don't have to be a good rebounder as long as you box out and the team can get the ball.
Otherwise a great signing IMO: great lob threat, good rim protector, can move his feet when switched out.

I dont really like the Lonnie signing at all. Let's see if OPJ or TJ warren sign for more, but so far feels super underwhelming.

still hoping we can get the Kyrie deal done, or I'll have little motivation to watch this season unfold.
