I mean it was always vet mins and the mini from jump.

We just replaced Monk, Duke, Avery, and DJ, Nunn and THT might be in play. Let's see what else happens.

I always assumed Christie would only get the minimum.

I can understand taking issue with who we used the full TPMLE on, but splitting the TPMLE to give Christie a bigger deal wouldn’t have made sense to me.

absolutely. sign christie to the standard two-year and have his early bird rights and you're fine. not worried about it.

I said in the Coach Ham thread that Rob was the king of over correcting and I think abeer and pika argued against me?

He literally threw everything out the door and just went younger. Honestly, it’s not a good look how he chops and changes the goals of the team every offseason. Losing faith in Rob.

i'd never argue against that. we vastly overcorrected two years in a row, and now this is year three. it's facile.

Walker immediately became the guy I wanted when SA rescinded their QO about a half hour before FA began. His size is 6'4 but his wingspan is similar to that of Oladipo. He shot better (41 and 36%) the previous two years from distance than last season. Very athletic and yes, I would (and am glad they did) use the 6.5 to net him...

    Also like the Jones/Brown signings...

Athletic and YOUNG. Walker is 23, Brown will be 23 in a matter of days and Jones turned 27 today....

A whole lot better than this signing aging crap.

    I like the start...

    Yeah, Rob definitely over corrects.

Can totally see next year the complaints being “The Lakers had too many young and inexperienced players”, and then next summer he goes back to signing only aging veterans…

Rob might have a few things up his sleeve yet. I guess him being spotted in NY dining with the Nets gm awhile back could have actually been work related.

You’re right, I went back and looked you just said you liked the gasol off season and I agreed. My bad!

Not sure on pika but I recall Abeer, myself, and a few others agreeing with that.

I said Rob had a lot to prove this time around and still feel that way. The signings are okay but definitely feel like another overcorrection.

However, this off-season was always going to come down to what we did with Russ. That hasn’t changed IMO. He needs to pull off a good deal for us.

the gasol offseason was a homerun undone by bad luck, imo. we overcorrected the year before (ballhandling) and the year after (shooting), and now this year (youth/athleticism).

dirty work backup forward. smart signing for them because he'll be valuable in trade to a contender in the next two years. he gets a corner three and he's pj tucker.

their gm had a ROCKY start (green over mobley, oladipo over allen/levert...YIKES), but he's recovering.
