Brunson has all the makings of a bust after contract year. And you wonder why Knicks are never good.

huh? i'd vote against it. did everyone not just see what happened in bkn? if i get to remove russ and get kyrie, i'm ok. but selling AD and anything else good to field a team of a headcase, a 38 year old, and a 34 year old...

    i'm out.

Full quote from SAS towards the second half

Saying Kyrie is telling everyone he plans on going to the Lakers, as soon as he possibly can. The likelihood being that he’d have to play out the season and join in free agency. Says the Lakers will have enough room next summer, and Kyrie has been led to believe the Lakers will use it on him.

My hope is that this is a leverage ploy to spurn any other teams that may have been interested in trading for Kyrie. I.e, don’t give up assets for me because I’d just be a rental.

Because I’m not very interested in signing Kyrie next summer. That’s already too late.

The whole appeal of acquiring Kyrie would be that he may help salvage one of Lebron’s final few years. We need him now. If that means we’d have to extend him after the fact, we’ll cross that bridge. But we can’t just twiddle our fingers for a year and hope Kyrie can help next year

I choose chaos, abeer lol. It would NEVER happen, but yeah I’d do it, we’d be one of the favorites for a ring if healthy, Harden isn’t LeBron. LeBron plus those 2 and ring chasers can win one ring, that’s all I’m after.

if this is true, there doesn't seem to be any reason why the BRK FO wouldn't do a deal with us for Westbrook and get at least 1 first round pick for Kyrie

Based on Marks tweet, they have to move Irving or Simmons before they could accept a deal from Phoenix.

IDK man ..I just love the chaos. It's a lot of wild speculation at this point about what they could get for KD. Seriously I'd dump Kyrie asap if I were Brooklyn, before the night is over. However just to spite him, they will probably ask Rob for 3 1st round picks to have him right now, and then make the trade at the deadline. I doubt Kyrie suits up in Brooklyn at all. They either trade him now or sit him out until the deadline, and tell him to stay home at that. Anything is possible, but I heard on a couple of spots, that he definitely is telling people that he will be on the Lakers next season.

Feels like a Jerome James situation all over again. The Knicks never learn.

It’s absolutely a leverage ploy. “Trade me now and get off Harris’ contract/get a pick or two, I’m walking anyway.”.

or...send us harris AND irving for russ, then buy out russ who gives back 7 million like wall did because someone will take him at mini mle, and you've cleared 14 million off your books. that should provide the breathing room, no?

yeah, i like brunson and argued with someone here a couple months ago that he was worth vanvleet money (22 per, maybe 25 if you squint hard), but to maneuver like they did for this is...a risk. i really think dallas was able to hide his flaws in ways ny may not be able to.

Also, I’m recalling that Evan Massey guy who reported that Dallas would heavily pursue Kyrie, is a fraud. Seems to throw out a lot of BS and not sure if he’s ever gotten a scoop correctly.
