The one thing that could salvage the Lakers predicament when it came to RW and the offseason just happened....

KD requesting a trade changes the landscape completely.....

The guy went to the team that beat him after being up 3-1. He picked his teammate in Kyrie, he got Harden there. Now what, 3 years later he’s trying to force his way to the team that was in the finals 2 seasons ago? He’s a front runner and a baby, I have zero respect for him. Regarding his trade though, he has no leverage, he’s got like 3 or 4 years left on his deal, this could take a while. It’s not like kyrie who is on his final year and will be a free and so it’s not worth giving assets, Durant is locked in, he’ll get traded to the team that can offer the most. And then he’ll demand a trade from that team too because he’s a frontrunning wuss, so much so he makes LeBron James look loyal. :D

could his giant expiring help facilitate a trade that helps us, too?

There are options now for sure....you know a whole lot more realistic one than Irving actually sacrificing $30,000,000.....

I hear you, but I think if Brooklyn had just given Kyrie the extension he wanted without any of the controversy, KD doesn’t ask out.

Because to be honest, I still thought the Nets had a solid chance at the East if they stayed healthy, got Simmons mind right, and made some decent FA moves.

Would definitely be hilarious to see Brooklyn ship him to some lottery team.

i thought it was weird the nets played hardball with kyrie, contract-wise, as if they had no idea what they were getting into when they traded for him.

btw, the talking heads won't say it, but kyrie has a LOT of say in his destination, imo. he's a UFA after the season, so they can't get a ton for him.

You're probably right, but I still think at the first bump along the way they both request trades, they’re truly insufferable players. Big shocker both of Durant’s reported favored destinations were the #1 seeds of each conference last season. Such a frontrunner.

Levels of Crazy (higher number being not crazy at all):

    3. Kevin Durant asking to be traded (again) to go to an already competing roster
3,875. The persona that is Kyrie Irving
987,124,611. Darvin Ham magically turning RW into a decent defender and shooter
987,124,612. #3875 actually turning away (or anyone for that matter) 30 million dollars

Whoah, hold up… if anything this should give us MORE leverage for a Kyrie trade. Giving up both firsts would be excessive at this point IMO
