Tough decision on Monk. Liked to read both sides in the thread. I think I would take him if we can't get Warren, Ingles, Porter, Bamba or Hartenstein for that value.

I get that he's worth more and it's also good to trust a guy who likes it here and is engaged. And he does have a role in spacing the floor. He's young and athletic, so can still improve in defense.
But I would first try to solve one of our big needs before giving him our MLE. Porter or Ingles may have question marks but they help solve our needs and you need to use one of your assets on that, even if then it doesn't work.
Plus, we are big on Reaves so Monk won't have that much value. And hopefully Nunn is playing this year too

Now, if you don't get any of the above guys, which is likely, you just get BPA and run it back with Malik


Not much rumours about us apart from Griffin (yuck). I think it's good, it seems we have less leaks, but can also mean we are not getting anyone attractive. We shall see tomorrow

I will be happy if we get a nice wing and a big. Anything over that is a big win. Anything below that is underwhelming


On a final note, Dejounte trade is absurd. I don't f get the value of picks. If I was a GM I would trade all the picks. They are much more valued before than after. With a pick you basically have a gamble that will take at least 3y to materialize. How is that better than guys you already KNOW what they are worth in the league?
Dejounte is a real player. He does it all and with a good supporting cast is at least a solid #2. Spurs' team lacked a lot of talent, he still made them competitive. He's the best player they got since Kawhi. I get Atlanta picks are intriguing and may be high ones (MAY, but most likely will be around #10 to 15 in a good scenario). How many players in the next 5 drafts will be better than Dejounte? And how many around the #10 pick? And is it worth to wait 5 years for that? Just doesn't make sense at all

 

I'd rather Cousins than Griffin.

 

I'm assuming he's picking the Lakers cause of his beef with Steve Ballmer.

 

I'd rather have zero washed players, anywhere on the Lakers.

 

Looks like the NBA might have finally scared teams into conducting deals after July 1.

If we sign Griffin, that’d officially be the death knell for any hopes this season. He doesn’t really help fill any need, so it’d be the sign that our front office still have no clue what they’re doing.

But in a way, I’d almost be morbidly curious to see it happen just for the sake of seeing a Rob Pelinka press conference where he has to try to sell the fanbase on such an obvious disaster.

But sorry to be insensitive, my first thought is: Man I really hope this doesn’t drastically hurt his market (and therefore Charlotte’s potential need to clear salary from their books, ie possible Russ trade partner)
