I wouldn’t put much stock into this, feel odds are likely often inflated in our favor simply due to the size of our fanbase.

Also… who even bets on where a roleplayer like Bamba will end up? :D

read somewhere today that dallas was looking to move some salary to det to get use of the full MLE. bamba makes sense as a target for them. as does hartenstein or gpII. full MLE opens up more possibilities.

Feel like the Lakers always have the second best odds to get a player.

Interesting, didn’t realize this was an option.

Probably unlikely to happen, but in theory if there was a team that would be interested in a first from us sooner than 2027 as part of a Russ trade, we could maybe swing a second to the Pels to free up the 2023 pick as a tradable asset.

Also, ignoring Pincus downplaying the specific idea in this tweet, I had forgot that we still have a ~2.6 million TPE from the Marc Gasol trade. Maybe as free agency progresses, some team ends up needing a few million in cap and we can take advantage to acquire a player they’d like to dump salary.

feel like philly still has to get off some salary to sign tucker. maybe shake milton? not sexy, but that's the level of player you're talking for a 2.6 TE. still, could beat a vet min in some circumstances.

The Lakers almost never sign the top free agents, we’re almost always getting our 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th choice, never that one guy we wanted most. I think our biggest name signing was probably Trez, nobody saw it coming and it shocked a lot of people. Almost all of our best players and biggest contributors from the bench have come from trades and the draft (and buyouts in recent years). It’s another reason I don’t get the 20__ cap space plan, that has almost never worked for us, LeBron was our only big signing. Every other star free agent has spurned us, and will likely continue to do so. We need to be working on trades, because free agency isn’t it for us for the most part. We aren’t getting Bamba, Hartenstein, and likely aren’t getting Porter Jr or anyone of that quality either, we’ll end up retaining Monk most likely.

It isn't going to be a sparkling list, but sure I can list some guys for you...

Daniel House is one I would go after as well as Otto Porter Jr and both look as though they can be had for the MLE, hell you might be able to split with House if the market is weak on him. Joe Ingles ACL tear in a concern, but I might still bite on him as well and he is a split candidate probably because of that. Kelly Oubre might be the odd man out in Charlotte, assuming they can't move him. T.J. Warren has been mentioned and would be a target one would expect, even if he is not the same player he was two years ago he is still only 28 years old. Victor Oladipo may be only an inch taller than Monk, but he plays much bigger, has the All-Defensive 1st team honor in his pocket and looks to be out in Miami. I might give Wesley Mathews another go after his playoff run, because even at 36 he showed enough for me to give him the minimum or perhaps a split on the MLE, albeit I would have to be really desperate to do the later. I doubt Amir Coffey would take it, but I might double what the Clippers just qualified him for and see if they bite- hell I might just do it out of spite, although I like what he ultimately could bring. Jordan Nwora might be another one I tease the Bucks with.

There will likely be a few more to add to the list by tomorrow...
And of course their will be a long list of youngsters who have the length and need the opportunity.

This isn't even counting what big man the Lakers may want (boy wouldn't Jalen Smith be a dream at that 6 million number) like McGee, Lopez, Jones, etc where a minimum might not be enough you would need to dip into the MLE....and of course the longer shots like Hartenstein and Momba like are being mentioned here

    So, there you go...

Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Wizards star Bradley Beal has officially declined his $36.4 million option and will become a free agent.
This isn’t anything new, but this makes it official. Woj tweeted just a few days ago that Beal was “very likely” to return to the Wizards, and that still remains the case despite the declination of the player option. Beal can either sign a five-year max deal to return to the Wizards, or sign elsewhere on a four-year deal, but the former will bring in more cash for Beal and that’s what he’s expected to do league-wide. The Wizards have already started making moves, including bringing in Monte Morris and Will Barton from the Nuggets this morning, so we’ll see if they have anything else in store for us in no time.

THT for Coby White and Javonte Green would be a great deal.

You can’t parlay the brand when the Franchise has had extremely shaky leadership since the great Dr. Buss passed.
