Think we are going to have to go for young players who didn't quite pan out and hope we can sort of coach them up or players who have had injury issues and try and get a somewhat healthy season out of them.

something we haven't done in a long time is bring a guy over from europe. i think huertas was the last one, and he was an old guy already. but teams routinely scour other countries for guys whose rights aren't owned and occasionally find some gems. the mavs found kleber, for example. we could use a kleber. are there other kleber's out there?

I feel like Stan is better than Josh Jackson, I'd rather invest more time into him. He showed the ability to attack the rim and handle the ball some - if he can develop and hit the corner 3's he'll be a great contributor moving forward.

Jalen Smith is interesting, he shot 37% from three at almost 4 attempts a game over 22 games in Indy? Is that an aberration or is it something he can develop further? Don't know much else about him.

he was a 1st round pick for phx, but they dropped him after two years, which is why--and i'm not sure about this--he's not an RFA. that said, indy has a ton of space and could probably just pay him 10 million for one year to take a longer look, so it's likely a pipe dream.

i think our center core is going to be olds/retreads (dieng, dedmon, cousins, dwight, etc.).

re: stan/jackson, porque no los dos? stan's earned his shot, but no harm in having another guy around trying to crack the sf rotation.

doubt it. i just don't think he's an RFA, so he's free to sign wherever. my guess (as i said above) is indy keeps him because they have familiarity and space. but who knows? maybe he likes the beach or something.

Good eye @abeer3. Jalen Smith is EXACTLY the kind of big I want to pair with AD. With only about 3 dominant power bigs in the NBA (Embiid, Joker, sometimes KAT) we don’t need that kind of big but about 10 games a season. That’s where we can get a Dwight or Cousins for the vet minimum. I’d much rather have an athletic big that can be interchangeable with AD depending on matchups. Smith would fit nicely.

yeah, and the cat may be out of the bag on him. but he was failing a year ago, and boucher was a nobody two years ago. who's this year's nobody? we should find that guy.

I'd be happy with him and Damian Jones, but also think he's unlikely to play for the min.

Howard looked kind of washed last season, and Boogie is awful defensively so no thanks.

i feel like jones is semi-realistic at the vet min, though he is coming off his best season. but sac has three guys under contract at center, so he'll probably need a new home unless they offload one.

btw, if they want to offload one, how about THT/2nd rounder for richuan holmes?

Dude shoots 66% a good amount of time but few attempts and why doesn’t someone tell Dwight to start taking them when open in the flow of whatever they’re doing …. and give him some time to try. How’s pre-season games if we have him back. Or not. Seems he is comfortable from out there and stroke’s nothing bad really.

Damian Jones started shooting 3s as well last year. Shot 34.5% even though low volume. That's serviceable for a big if he keeps it up.

I liked the energy he always brought when playing for us. Would really like him back.

According to Deveney's exec source, we're going to be in the mix for Blake Griffin
