As much as Magic’s assumed decision he wanted cap space over paying Zu a going rate for a not all that good yet but promising young center’s first post rookie contract (with Zu probably willing to give the hometown discount) “hurt” …. the same situation with Brook Lopez wanting to stay with the Lakers after a nice season here I think hurt worse considering the level of play he has had in the years following filling the role we could well have used him in. :swear:

Lopez was the perfect Center for an AD and Lebron team. AD could play weak side help defence while Lopez played a drop coverage. Have Caruso at the point of attack and Lebron as a free safety where his intelligence and stripping ability could be useful.

Then offence he could stretch it out to 3, and if required he could go into the post and give you 20 if AD was out, or he needed to slow the game down to give the main guys some rest.

He was also useful in a Russ team, he boxed out so well that Russ would get a ton of rebounds and fast break opportunities, while he spaces

Terrible mistake letting him and Caruso go for peanuts.

Hartenstein would be great here, and could develop into a Brook Lopez caliber 3 point threat to boot. I'd hard sell him on the opportunity to stay in LA and become a fixture here. It would be great to stick it to the Clippers, while ending up with the player with the higher ceiling, since Magic gave them Zubac. He has to take the risk of accepting a lower contract tho. I think Reaves will end up being a better all around player than Alex too. If Rob pulled off Hartenstein and Monk...that would be a coup alone. This FA class is piss poor terrible IMO.

Hartenstein is possible for the MLE. But I want at least one 3&D player with size for the SG/SF spot.

I don't see anyone of substance available on that front honestly. I'd trade Nunn for PJ Washington, and I'd push hard for TJ Warren, but the Pacers have a lot of cap space if they want to keep him. I'd give him the same treatment as Hartenstein. We have the playing time available for you, and if you play the way we feel that you can, we will reward you next summer. Folks looking for some kind of homerun will most likely be disappointed next week. I'd be ecstatic if we pulled Hartenstein, Monk,Warren and Washington or Jones.

They like trading with one another. Wonder how many of these new Pistons are going to hit the buyout market.

kemp was a massive disappointment for portland. showed up around 300 lbs and proceeded to put up the worst numbers of his career before getting benched. didn't even play in the playoffs because he had checked into rehab for his drug issue by then

I want a McGee and Boogie pairing. McGee gives that lob threat back with some rebounding, blocks, scoring, energy, and bench leader. Boogie gives AD a stretch big to play next to, some feisty play, and there's the Ham connection. Both are fine not playing every night and I don't care if they DNP the entire playoffs. That's AD's moment. But we got to get there first.

i mean, i feel like we've listed all the wings in this thread, and with taurean prince going for 8 per, i have questions about that market.

The only realistic option I see there is Bryant and Cousins. Ibaka is cooked and there’s no way we’re getting Bamba with our salary constraints.

Thomas Bryant is an interesting name.

Had 1 good season, he's been injured, but probably worth a look.

i'm in. this is the sort of thing we have to do, tbh.

i was serious earlier about jalen smith from indy, too. if we promise him a shot at starting, does he take the monk flyer?
