Ah well, that was fun while it lasted. At least it was some drama and excitement for our offseason.

I’d like to see what Nunn can do but trading him definitely wouldn’t be a dealbreaker or anything.

I just wouldn’t want to use all of our handful of assets to get rid of Russ.

Charlotte needs to get rid of these contracts, Hayward at least, to be able to retain Melo and Bridges because they’re cheap, don’t want to pay a lot of tax. So what I’m saying is you don’t help them out and give them assets when you don’t have to. They get 47 million in cap relief next summer and we take on Hayward’s 2 year deal and Rozier’s I believe 4 year deal. That’s the tradeoff, it’s mutually beneficial without added picks. Rob giving away picks like candy is why we don’t have any except ‘27 and ‘29, we have to stop doing that, first round picks aren’t just throw-ins. Same for Nunn, if he’s finally healthy next season he’s a 15 ppg scorer for 5 mil, not a throw-in, a super valuable player. If we do trade him though it’s better to be separate with maybe THT for another nice player.

Well that suspense ended rather quickly. Oh well, time to go back to talking about Russ ad nauseam

Best bet is to still trade him. We have 1, maybe 2 glaring holes on the team and he’s the best means to filling them. We need wings and athleticism

yes and yes. i posted a lot earlier about how it was possible, but i never wanted kyrie here. let's wait out the carnage and be opportunistic. wall's going to be bought out, and we've got the biggest expiring left.

If Charlotte would go for that, then great. With that being said, Nunn seems like the ideal type of back court mate to slide into the vacated spot left by Rozier. It just makes sense (from Charlotte's perspective) to include Nunn in that deal. Now, if we could have Rozier and Nunn on the same roster, then of course that would be excellent.

yeah. I had my own anti-Kyrie rants several pages back. This is for the best.

Completely agree. Team (and fans honestly) need to be patient and let the right deal materialize.

the situation with the Nets locker room is going to be more toxic than Chernobyl if Kyrie stays.

plus the Nets now can move him for something.

I think we could still get him with a 3 team deal.

It’s sounding like the Hornets are so cheap they don’t really even want to give Bridges a big deal.

Here is him laughing at a comment from his new (old) coach about his rap career that happens to mention one of the main teams that can sign him to a big deal this summer.

Saluting Lamelo (as a goodbye kinda thing?)

Not sure what this means regarding any potential interest that the Hornets would have in trading for Westbrook’s expiring.

I find it interesting Wall is getting a buy out. Houston seem quite shrewd in their manoeuvrings. They must believe that the expiring doesn’t have a lot of value being so big and/or not many decent non injured players other teams want to desperately drop.

Surprised they couldn’t get a Tobias Harris or something?

In addition to clearing their books, part of Charlotte's rationale for doing the trade is to open up more minutes for Bouknight. Apparently they're pretty high on him over there. They're already getting Russ back in the trade and MJ/Steve Clifford are not the types to just tell Russ to sit at home while he's getting paid $47 million. I don't think Charlotte would even want Nunn back in a trade, let alone require him to get the deal done.

I don’t see why the locker room would be toxic? It’s management vs Kyrie. That’s got nothing to do with any of the other players, Kyrie was just trying to secure his money. No player will have any ill will towards him for that.

In fact it might even bring them closer.

Shams tweet made it seem like Kyrie was opting in and plans to stay with the Nets…

Woj making it sound like a trade is still possible…

    hmm
