We're in such wild territory right now that its hard to even project anything.

I'd think LeBron would be able to smooth things over with Nike and they'd be interested in Kyrie rebranding in LA.

This is just a Hollywood situation even for us.

    Holy s***! For Gallo?!

But according to the media we can't unload Russ without giving up ownership stake in the Lakers?

On the plus side, I will enjoy the literal ocean of tears from all the teams and media members who hate us if Kyrie really signed here for the minimum.

Yeah, we'd still have issues but at least for that day I could enjoy the whining.

The problem is the Rockets are cheap, buying out Wall and Russ isn't going to happen. They most likely would love Russ for the locker room, they thought that he was the only guy that stood up to Harden. That being said, their owner wants to cut cost by all means so Russ isn't going there. Of course Russ could shock everybody by opting out! Lebron is the only guy in the NBA that makes more money than Westbrook off the court. He might be doing his own negotiations right now to do a S&T back to OKC or Washington as we speak. That clears up space for Kyrie immediately, depending on how much space OKC has to absorb some of Westbrook's contract, they could send back expirings and cheap contracts.

If they're trying to lose we can help by giving them Russ.

McDermott + Josh Richardson gets it done cap wise. I think Russ has more value, but if we're just looking to dump and check off a couple needs.

Pop hates us, but what if we're helping his team achieve their goal? We can throw in a couple 2nds.

Spurs are in a weird place with Murray. He's really good and just had a career year, but he's 25 now. He's probably not the best player on the next great Spurs team and might not be the second best player either. They're not a big free agent destination so they'll have to find that guy through the draft, and by the time they do he'll probably be in his late 20s. They need to truly bottom out to find that kind of blue-chip prospect rather than being on the cusp of/in the play-in tournament. Plus Murray's deal is up in a couple of years and he'll probably want a max, its easier to trade him now for good value while he's still on a really friendly contract.

You have to love the NBA!! Heading into one of the weakest Free Agent classes in history, the NBA world is still on fire right now with all these wild rumors and innuendos. The craziest thing is that some of this ridiculousness being tossed out might actually happen!

my thought was wall for russ and cash or a 2nd (just as a thanks). they're about to buy wall out anyway. this is only if we got kyrie, though. otherwise doesn't make sense.

yeah, the more i thought about it, the more i realized they figure they need to max out his value, and this is probably its highest point. would like to see the protections on the picks, though. if they got, like, 2 unprotected picks and a swap right...that's not bad for them.

Why are they showing Charlotte receiving Brick with 2 years at 44M? Must be a typo?

I’m sure you are well aware the difference between a fact and an opinion. Telling members that “if you like LeBron, you aren’t a true Laker fan” is DEFINITELY on opinion. It doesn’t matter how many Laker fans share your opinion, it’s still an OPINION.

But the evidence most all knowledgeable people except you, and yeah you’re entitled to your opinion, agree upon is that Russ’s 3 horses of the basketball apocalypse …… can’t / won’t suddenly become a good defender after showing for years he hasn’t the inclination or the smarts to do so both on point and off the ball, won’t magically become a good 3 point shooter to have the gravity for defenders to not just leave him wide open and clog the key, and his self unaware and unaccountable sh***y attitude …… doesn’t include Russ as “anything can work with healthy and engaged LeBron and AD.” When the competition ratchets up in the playoffs. The trio of KCP, Kuzma and Caruso, even with some THT thrown in was unquestionably better playing with our 2 stars IN that championship run, than one of what Russ is NOW as a player. And he IS a dumb player on top of it.
