    Yeah, but you have to take into account that Kyrie is insane. Also lol at us hard capping ourselves to get Kyrie, that puts us in an even worse position than last season.

    all would be opt-in and trades, most likely.

    clips can give the best player return. almost nobody has good picks to offer, save the knicks, who have all of their picks.

    again, like to see the clips give up depth for kyrie and us pick at the bones somehow to turn russ into a few decent players.

    edit: and to repeat, i don't want him. but russ and picks would be a pretty good offer given the circumstances.

    I wouldn’t give up a single pick for that headcase. They’d have to give us a pick to take him, or just a straight up swap. Zero incentive to give up draft picks for a guy that missed half the games last season on purpose.

    Yeah, Rob would take Irving in a heartbeat.

    He would also likely include a 27 pick, too. Wouldn't surprise me if he added 29, lol.

    All this to say: it feels like Kyrie is going to be in a Lakers uniform.

    Idk why I feel that way, and I hope I'm wrong. Really hope I am.

    Real question is would the Lakers decide to max Kyrie for someone who shows up half the year? And hope to God the Raptors don't go to the Finals, haha.

    If Kyrie does come to LA, it's likely a 3 team trade. I doubt the Nets would take just Westbrook and a couple of 1st. But then again, I don't know how desperate they would get to unload him and I don't know if Kyrie threatens to retire if it isn't the Lakers he gets sent to.

    yeah, let's take on kyrie who always misses half the season due to injuries and the alignment of the planets while we already have AD who also misses half the season because of injury

    Yeah but KD only listed the Clippers, Bucks, C Bags and GS as his preferred trade destinations..I imagine Kyrie will be looking to link up with him . How in the hell would that work at GS or Milwaukee...IDk.

    The idea of getting Kyrie without giving up a first sounds far fetched. So yeah, I know it’s unpopular, but I could easily see this front office pulling the trigger on both the 2027 and 2029 picks for Kyrie.

    So if we were able to get him for just one of the picks, especially if it was protected, I’d consider it a win.

    I think I have a lot more confidence that Lebron would be able to keep Kyrie in check, plus I think Kyrie is someone for whom it would actually mean something to wear the purple and gold and see Kobe’s jersey in the rafters.

    Plus, worst case if Kyrie decides to sit out a handful of games for whatever random cause he feels is important that month… well Kyrie sitting at home is probably still better than Russ on the court lol
