he's only played 70 games once in his career, and has played sub-50 for the last two. i think that's why he's available. also, toronto has a couple guys who do his job better, so i see why they'd consider trying to develop the next one.

Let’s play this Kyrie walks away from Brooklyn and signs with the Lakers for the MLE scenario out.

With Kyrie on the team, that would mean we would HAVE to trade Westbrook but we wouldn’t necessarily need a point guard in return.

Charlotte has seemed to be the one team that seems most open to taking on Westbrook, with the rumors they are willing to give up a pick just to dump Hayward. So what if we also do the Westbrook for Hayward/Oubre/Plumlee and pick trade.

All of a sudden our depth chart is really really nice, injuries and all. As long as some combination of 2 of the big 3 can combine for 70+ games we might be really good.

    Irving/Nunn
    THT/Reaves
    Hayward/Oubre/Johnson
    Lebron
    AD/Plumlee

NOW you can fill out the roster with vet minimums and sit nicely.

Collins for Barnes has to be a pick swap too. Hawks get 4, Kings get 16?

The entire Spurs organization and half the league would have heart attacks if we got a deal like the Grant trade.

    Just not going to happen.

well, we have no immediate picks nor cap space, and that's what's happened so far. we just need a couple of our potential westbrook dance partners to strike out.

I want no part of Kyrie, even as desperate as we are.

I know, and that's what pisses me off over the last few years of how we treated our assets.

We sit here with our stymied with no real solutions. It burns my a**.

Outside of the coaching staff additions, the off-season will probably anger me if the end results suck.

I don’t think any is arguing that Kyrie isn’t better than Russ but Kyrie will sit out anytime the mood strikes him or his sister has a birthday. Plus we’d have to pay him for 4 years instead of getting rid of Russ at the end of next season. Neither player is going to listen to anyone and both will do their own thing whenever they want.

This is how I see it. We have no idea if LeBron has a future move planned. AD doesn't have the best injury history. Westbrook was a bust. Basketball wise, Kyrie is almost perfect. If we can get him without a longterm commitment? I'm in. We're already all in on this experiment. We have limited opportunities to improve, and this may be the best path to a ring.

If Kyrie does end up with the Lakers, there may be a way where you stagger the big 3 in a Kawhi-load management type scenerio and it could work.

    Something along the lines of…
    - 20 games with AD/Kyrie available
    - 20 games with Lebron/Kyrie
    - 20 games with Lebron/AD
    - 22 games with all 3

All 3 would have to play 62 games a season but that’s load management, and the goal is to get into the postseason with all 3 healthy.

That's a steep ask. If they're getting even worse why is Pop sticking around year? Wonder how many picks that ask gets reduced by if Collins is in the deal. 1 unprotected, 1 protected, and a swap?

Hey Wiz, I recall you guys were happy keeping Russ if he didn't want to be traded here. Beal liked him enough.So... want him back? We can put the genie back in the bottle and pretend this thing never happened. How about Porzingis, KCP, Kuz and Ish Smith for Russ, THT, and Nunn?

Package all 3 and we'll talk. Can't get much more of an "impact" player than Russ. They never said it had to be a good impact.

If Jae leaves, I hope he goes to Boston, 6ers, or teams up with Pat Bev. I want to keep my hatred consolidated.

Well it is extremely unlikely that he’ll turn down $30 million more to play for MLE here.
