yeah, curious to see if it works out. feel like that's a big payday for a gm. on the other hand, this is what i hope the lakers do if and when they move on from rob. just pull out the checkbook and steal the best exec from another team

B/R's Jake Fischer with some free agency buzz

    Ayton
    Hawks looking to make moves?
I mentioned that the other day that I think the Hawks have reached their ceiling with that roster. If they want to shed some guys we have a Russ.

    Lavine notes
    https://bleacherreport.com/articles...z-intel-on-deandre-ayton-zach-lavine-and-more

If LaVine wants to be somewhere he can cook, I don't know where that leaves him. Portland? No. Dallas? No, not unless he think Luka will take on more of a role as a facilitator. Hawks? No, Trae is gonna shoot. Lakers? Definitely not. Klutch is using us as headline fodder. Spurs? That probably makes the most sense out of the recently mentioned teams.

Rob has f’ed us up big time in the matter of draft capital so little chance Lavine happens. Mitch crap the bed as usual during the Randle draft, having Jokic and Lavine available

Draft picks won't have anything to do with why Lavine won't be a Laker.

It's the hard cap, it's players on the roster that teams want (Bulls are a playoff team needing depth, picks are not what they're looking for), and it's what Lavine is looking for (he wants max money and usage, we can't give him that sized role).

I’m guessing that if there were an avenue to get him to LA, he would be willing to forego some touches to play with LeBron and AD in the Golden Armor. I just don’t think there is a realistic chance.

No, I really don't think there's any chance he ends up here. It's just not the right situation for him.

The NBA is reportedly expected to announce two new expansion teams in Seattle and Las Vegas after their media rights deal expires in 2024.
While the Seattle Supersonics were a prevalent part of the NBA from 1967-2008 before moving over to Oklahoma City (where they still reside), Las Vegas hasn’t been in this landscape before. This isn’t a change that will come this upcoming season since the media rights deal won’t expire for another two years, but if this does indeed become a reality, there will be 32 teams in the league as opposed to the 30 there currently are. Plus, these two new teams in Seattle and Las Vegas will surely be part of the Western Conference, meaning one of the teams in the West could switch to the East. Another small change that was recently announced was that the Bulls and Pistons will face off in Paris in the regular season, which will mark the 12th trip to France (preseason included) since 1991. Ever since commissioner Adam Silver implemented the play-in tournament, it seems like he’s not done making changes around the league quite yet, with these two tidbits being good for expansion purposes and for emphasizing that the NBA is indeed continuing to push to become a global sport.

Minnesota or NO should join them in the East.

Will the NBA add more divisions? Or lesson divisions?

Will there be a true incentive to win the division?

NBA players aren't playing 82 anymore do to harsh activity to the body. I think they should regionalize the games more so travel isn't as extensive. Try and keep teams in the same time zone as much as possible as well. Then the soft cry babies do not have an excuse at least in the travel side of it.

If that is the goal, then expanding the divisions would be beneficial.

    Western Conference

    LA Lakers
    LA Clippers
    Sacramento
    Golden St.

    Portland
    Phoenix
    Seattle
    Las Vegas

    Oklahoma City
    Minnesota
    Denver
    Utah

    Houston
    San Antonio
    Dallas
    New Orleans

    Eastern Conference

    Milwaukee
    Detroit
    Chicago
    Indiana

    Toronto
    Boston
    New York
    Brooklyn

    Philadelphia
    Washington
    Charlotte
    Cleveland

    Memphis
    Atlanta
    Orlando
    Miami

10 games against each team in the division. 30 games

3 games against interconference opponents. 36 games.

1 game out of conference. 16 games.

82 games. Limited travel. Division relevance. Everyone wins.
