Yeah man. Green is young, but he is already contributing 17 ppg his rookie season. Hes also making a healthy 2.3 three-pointers per game. His percentage is 34%, but he is a rookie. He will improve. It's good that he is not shy about shooting it though. Hes going to be really good. I'm not even sure Houston would consider trading him tbh.

houston won't trade him because they took him #2 overall and he's cost-controlled for four years, so it's moot.

but i wouldn't do it because he'll never be as good as AD is right now, and you'll have to wait three more years before he's an allstar-level player.

reminds me a bit of zach lavine.

Yeah, they will not trade him. But I think you are over valuing AD and under valuing Green. I wouldnt go as far to say that Green will never be as good as AD is right now. I mean, he is putting up 17PPG as a 20 year old rookie. Hes on a 28+ PPG trajectory. Zach LaVine is a good comparison. The kid does everything you want offensively from your shooting guard.

I would trade him for a Zach, a Caruso, two firsts, and two seconds.

He's making 17ppg in a terrible Houston team, shooting whenever he wants. That's not a big accomplishment.
He has skills but not sure if he has enough game on him to be an all-star. He may lack the right mentality and a better all-around game, it's too early to tell though

I wouldn't trade AD for him, it's a huge gamble.
We shouldn't trade for players that are so raw, if we trade AD it needs to be a player that is already competing at a high level. We won't do it though, at least for the next 2 years

i'm actually not. AD is a two-way superstar who's under 30. you don't trade those unless you're getting another one in return. it doesn't matter if you get two semi-stars or three or whatever. those can't make you competitive.

i know there's probably a lot of jokes about it now, but if NO calls me up and offers ingram/hart/lonzo/picks for AD, i still laugh. i don't want to feel good about finishing 10th. i'd rather feel terrible about finishing 11th.

also, for the MR GLASS crowd, lavine isn't exactly an iron man.

as are more players than people want to admit, i think. injuries are part of the game for most players. must be the kobe effect for laker fans, i guess.

    Great point.
We will never see another player with Kobe’s combo of mental and physical toughness. He redefined what a human can play through on an alien scale.
I really like what AD brings. I’m just worried about our future moving forward. He could totally prove a lot of people wrong next season and play in the majority of the games. I really want to see this.

contrary to how it appears here, i'm as worried about AD's health as anyone, i just strongly disagree that anything proactive can really be done about it. hope is sort of the only plan unless you want to go back to the dark ages.

need to load manage him obviously or he'll never be fit for the playoffs, this has been on the cards for over a year.

Lebron is also far from the iron man he was once before.

    I
I agree with the load management route for both AD and LeBron. However, Rob will need to pull multiple rabbits out of his hat this summer so we have a roster deep enough to win games AND be able to load manage at the same time.

spurs did it for years. they had three stars, but only TD earned the huge bucks, so that helped fill out the rest of the roster. still, though, they were creative around the margins, finding young guys, late first rounders, and internationals to help weather the storm. the key, imo, was the FO and coaching staff was on the same page and the ownership stayed out of it until it was time to write a check (and tbh, their owner pinched some pennies, buss-style, too).
