They are even trades, they are just words next to Lakers. That's it. Waste of f***ing energy.

Wood, Williams, Bagley, Or Vanderbilt. Snatch up a young big in their 20's, that's my wish. I think our team defense would be a lot better, adding a big that can play with AD, over another guard/SF.

Lol at the suggestion of trading THT and a 1st for Terrence frickin Ross. It's like these "analysts" don't even watch. How is a guy averaging 6.4ppg and shooting 36% in his last 10 games worth THT AND a 1st?

Lakers may do something stupid at the deadline, but some of these suggestions definitely aren't coming from our camp.

No idea what Indy or the Kings are doing. Shuffling the deck just to shuffle the deck hoping for different results. I don't think the Pacers are done, so it's tough to judge their roster until we see what they're trying to do. I thought Fox and Haliburton were off limits?

If Harris ends up in OKC, I'd call them to swap Russ for him.

I know it’s unpopular, but I wouldn’t be that opposed to swapping THT for one of Gordon, Ross, Richardson, etc or similar type player.

If we have to throw in the pick, absolutely not, that’s a show stopper.

But if it was just THT and filler for these players, I’d have to think about it. They’re simply better players and better fits right now. I’m not sure if we can afford to wait and gamble on THT’s development.

Also worth noting that these players we’re being linked to all expire after next season (well Gordon will have a team option). So we’d be getting 1.5 years of a player who is a better immediate fit and need than THT.

But that also clears THT’s possible player option from the books for 2023-2024. Wonder if that’s a concern for us. The risk of THT’s development stagnating and him picking up the player option, which could prevent us from going big game hunting.

THT’s player option may also end up making him less tradeable next year. Look at how valuable Rubio’s expiring contract was in helping the Cavs get LaVert. Heading into next trade deadline, Eric Gordon with a team option may have a lot more value than THT with a player option.

I get the general distaste for selling low on a young player in theory, but I have soured on THT’s potential. Betting on him IS a gamble, and I no longer like the odds very much. I could realistically see his value getting even lower past the trade deadline.

who is that person? not that i would at all be surprised by harden to philly, but i don't know james stewart.

russ for harris could work, but without nunn healthy, you've got no passable pg left on the roster.

to make such a deal, you have to believe that a) the player will move the needle this year, and/or b) we are likely to retain the player next year on a reasonable deal.

i just think we're going to lose any THT deal, so we shouldn't make one.

I’m in this boat right now too. No first though. But a good two way guard wing for our starting lineup would be ok to me. I mentioned warming up to Gordon in the THT thread.

Well that’s what I’m saying, we’d already have them retained next year on a reasonable deal. For example, Gordon has $18 million this current season, $19 million next year, and then a team option.

If you’re saying we’d need to trade THT for someone we would retain as a long term fit even beyond that, I’m not sure I agree.

So to me it boils down to, do they move the needle more than THT for the remainder of Lebron’s contract? I think they do.

gordon's production and injury history say next year's a huge gamble. hell, the remainder of this year is a big gamble.

    also: no more olds.

i just can't get sold that we're a fringe player deal away from contention. and i'm tired of concentrating assets in giant salary packages.

Id' give this a shot - Wizards aren't going anywhere and this save them money. KCP slots right into the starting SG role that he knows really well and moves Bradley to the bench.

yeah also some much needed continuity: you have Lebron/AD/Dwight/KCP/Bradley back from the bubble squad with Monk/Stan/Ariza/Reaves in there. Defense suddenly looks a lot better and you add more shooting (not elite but teams aren't going to leave KCP wide open). Could care less if Russ is waived TBH, with Monk's offensive explosiveness you just need to have good defenders with some shooting out there to make this work

So their ideal #2 to Dame is Grant? :Melo Defense:

Because he wants the large role and then money this summer.
