    Chicago laughs at that offer.

Unless Chicago and Portland are each getting half of OKC's picks (don't know how to make that work), both hang up on that call.

We'd be better off hoping that A) Dame demands a trade here. B) they accept picks and pick swaps for the next 10 years, as well every player on our roster not named AD or Bron. And even then we're looking at a 6% chance on a good day.

Could be worse. Delusional philly fans think they are getting Lillard for Simmons.

Philly has a much better chance of getting Lillard for Simmons than we do with our bag of poopy.

i thought houston should have taken thybulle, simmons, and picks over what they got for harden, tbh.

portland shouldn't, though, as philly has the horse they've chosen in embiid. mccollum+collins seems like a reasonable deal for simmons, imo. gives portland one more chance to build around lillard and philly a reliable secondary scorer (who does it in different ways than harris).

I don't see it. We don't have the assets or picks.

It was a solid try, it’s just any team that gets the assets from us loses. Schröder and Kuz absolutely tanked their value in the playoffs, and Lillard looked like an absolute beast in his. He would have to DEMAND out, and then say only LA like AD did for us to even have a chance.

Dame will NEVER get traded to LA. Not in a two way, 3 way, or one of those ways where a midget is involved.

Reggie Jackson is earning himself a big pay raise this summer.

I think our only chance at Dame is if he doesn’t demand a trade this off-season. He waits another year, allowing time for a lot of things to hopefully fall our way.

Blazers come up short again making it clearer that they need to blow things up and giving Dame more leverage. Get a media narrative out there that puts the public pressure on that he deserves better, get the Portland fans on board with that as well. Privately appeal to Blazer’s FO and make it clear he wants to come to LA. Pull the “I’m your franchise’s GOAT so do me this favor and I’ll play nice, and maybe even come back and retire here at the end of my career” card.

Meanwhile, our players end up significantly increasing their value. Say we re-sign THT and Schröder to relatively friendly deals. THT takes a massive leap forward and starts to look closer to a “star” than just someone with “star potential”, shows he can start on an elite team and already be a big contributor. Schröder re-establishes himself as a high level sixth man. Kuzma grows more comfortable in his role and shows that he can be an efficient 3&D player even without having to get a lot of touches. Our scouting department pulls off another heist, and #22 ends up being someone who can immediately contribute while still showing some upside, locked up on a friendly rookie deal.

If all that breaks our way, MAYBE there’s a chance.

As it is right now, it’s beyond pipe. It’s to the point where if Rob did somehow convert our limited assets into Damian Lillard this summer … the NBA would probably be justified in vetoing it for basketball reasons.

Since it looks like we're in fantasy land, why not get Luka? Right?
