I disagree. He’s a mid range bucket master and doesn’t consistently make silly mistakes. 5 assists and 5 boards per is decent as well. Yeah, he’s only shooting 33% from three, but that’s not the only factor which determines a solid offensive player.
He also averages 8 Free Throws a game while sinking 86% of them.

Theres been more open conversations recently from the CDC about natural immunity vs covid . So unvaccinated ballers like Kyrie or Holiday might still be able to play in cities/arenas and don't have to worry about missing games as warmer weather rolls around. From 2 years it does look like a seasonal thing but obviously more potent than your typical flu. The guidelines do change with optimistic numbers that simultaneously happens with changing seasons of the year

I absolutely get that. He is a great player and he's deserving of his All Star season. I'm just not sure if he can play that way with us being a No. 3 guy adjusting to Lebron/AD. Clearly in Chicago they are catering to him and running the offense through him and he's having a fantastic year.

Derozan is the first option in Chicago and his usage and shots are the second highest they have ever been in his career. Not sure how he would look as the third option, but I'm glad he is getting some deserved recognition and the Chicago team is doing well.

derozan's basically back to being peak toronto derozan, which is pretty amazing at his age, but also carries the same warts that toronto derozan did.

i'm not sure him taking a paycut to be here was ever realistic, despite the fact that it was considered. considering and doing are different things, and we're not talking about a small amount of money here.

If the player himself says that he is considering taking a pay cut, I think it is realistic. Why would you think he lying or insincere?

NY are making Bullius Randle available. Him and a filler for Russ is a trade waiting to happen. Either that, or re-structure Russ in the offseason.

sixers make out like bandits. first, you remove drummond! then you move a guy you haven't been able to move for a year for anthony davis.

i sort of hate it for the other two teams.

We need to dump the end of bench weight and fill their spits with guys that can contribute. Unfortunately Duke might be the only guy that can be moved.

We need another wing behind Stan and a mobile/spacing big that can play with Lebron or AD.

Fortunately we do have SOME draft picks to make some moves, and I’m confident in our scouting team’s ability to find undrafted guys to trade the picks.

This is a pretty solid lineup IMO:

Ben Simmons / Derrick Rose / Austin Reaves
    Malik Monk / Avery Bradley
LeBron James / Stanley Johnson / Trevor Ariza
    Julius Randle / Carmelo Anthony
    Mitchell Robinson / Dwight Howard

You could make the case that by saying that, he endears himself to LA without actually having to take a pay cut. I do believe he meant it, but the question is how much? If it wasn’t for MLE, does Pop swallow his pride and do a S&T or refuse out of spite? To summarize, I don’t think he was lying, but I’m skeptical there was a real path to making it happen.

Everyone working for the LA Lakers. Are you seriously suggesting we trade Davis to freaking 76ers.

If Embiid could make it work with Ben Simmons who can’t shoot, it’s game over with AD. They’ll be the best defence in the league and just pound teams inside. Only health can stop them. They’d probably flip Tobias for Nunn and THT in that deal and be even better.

i mean, you have one reliable shooter on...the whole...roster? you better hold teams under 80 with that crew.

just more AD disrespect. no way i trade him for that lot. i'd rather salary dump him for picks and try my hand in FA, tbh. and i wouldn't do that, either.

Sorry folks with that DeRozan pipe dream. I would have loved to get him but there was no way Pop was trading him here. Only way to get him would have been MLE and he wasn’t going that low, lol! https://apple.news/A9sdzzliER1OT26dPEnCoTA

this part has been ignored by the press almost entirely. we weren't going to take s&ts--it really wouldn't have been a great idea. and no, derozan wasn't signing for the mini-mle.
