Only one trade can save us at this point.

#10 for Bender and #17 anyone?

Another guy we allegedly want has allegedly been a Lakers fan for life? Or dude hears the rumors and really wants out of Detroit?

i feel like this trade has everything to do with the FO sending a message to lebron that they're going to handle the roster building from now on. rondo was one of lebron's guys and the easiest to move

This trade has everything to do with the fact that we can't use Rondo, but we can use Johnson who is younger, bigger and a better fit.

^Yes, and I like this move.

It's a small move, but Rajon has looked awful in his minutes this year.

I was giving him the benefit of the doubt since he was so instrumental in our 19/20 run, and he has already made me look foolish once when I counted him out!

Either way, he clearly has one leg out the door, and we fill a need with a defensive wing at least for this season.

It helps that we now have two guys on the roster we can throw @ the other teams best player.

I also hope this leads to a cheap multi-year deal.

SJ is an obvious need so I’m fine with sacrificing Rondo. It’s not like we don’t have 1,000 guards.

And in other news, Kuzma went for 25 and 10 the other night. He’s averaging 8 boards and 3 assists on a winning team. Contrary to the false narrative, the dude is not trash.

can't use bazemore and DAJ either. i don't get why one of those two weren't cut instead of rondo who is more valuable on and off the court

i think they're waiting as long as possible for a team to want to trade for them like one did for rondo. i don't expect either to finish the year with us, but we're in extreme pennypinching mode, which is awesome.

the more optimistic take is that their salaries add to nearly 5 million, which along with nunn and THT allows us to take back a guy making 20+ in trade.

    not holding my breath here.

weird that valentine's fallen off so far. i thought he looked pretty decent at times with the bulls.

edit: i just looked and saw he missed 2018-19 and basically hasn't been the same since.

I can understand keeping DJ. If D12 went down, we lucked into making a playoff run and needed a big body to take 6 fouls against a guy like the Joker, DJ is there.

No, he is not trash. However he wasn't consistent enough when the Laker pressure was on.

Kuzma is a very capable young player especially in the regular season. We saw a number of double double games here in LA particularly when AD was sitting. But he laid an egg in both the playoffs last year and the season before.

This guy is getting waived and I like keeping Johnson. I liked the idea of Wade to keep though SMH.

he's not trash, but his numbers sure don't back up this narrative that he's "balling out" since he left the lakers

he was never going to improve as a player if he stayed in LA. just far too inconsistent
