The Nets could really use a player like Kuzma. He's perfect for their system of everyone standing around while one of the three other guys isos.

Torn ACL is a problem. I like him, but I don't know how good he would be.

    Not good
If he comes, he would give us around 25min, I think it's a safe bet.

He would be PERFECT for us. Coming off the bench with Caruso would be awesome to lead the bench. He would thrive with LeBron too. If he accepts, I would give him the MLE. If we could send Kuz to the Nets, even better

this is why it's bad for us that the clippers have been good for a decade. used to be, going home to la would mean only one thing.

article sounded like posturing from his agent because he's worried no one will pony up the cash coming off the injury: i'll take the MLE from the lakers or clippers! when he's really saying, "you pay me, or s&t me to the lakers/clippers". now, in a S&T scenario, i like our chances vs. the clippers. could be a double s&t with schroder or we could revisit kuz talks we had with them last year. clips trade would have to be morris, kennard, or beverly (likely the latter). feel like our options are better.

btw, if dinwiddie was serious about taking the MLE, this is why you don't promise it to drummond.

He would be the clear cut starter if the lakers signed him. He's a baller.

Yeah I'm hesitant about the ACL recovery and the other issue for me is that his 3 point shot has gotten worse each year for the last few seasons. He's hovering around 30% now. Here, he would likely shoot 20%. If we are targeting shooters, there must be better options out there.

The Nets are way over the salary cap already, they wouldn't be allowed to sign and trade Dinwiddie at all. He would have to sign some where else and be traded to the Lakers. Same scenario with the Clippers. The problem with that is, he wouldn't be eligible to be traded from that team until December.

My question is, that if Dennis walked, would we get the 15 million back in cap space? If so, we could maybe sign Dinwiddie with that amount.

The three point shooting isn't that important to me, he can score and get to the free throw line consistently. Dennis didn't hit enough threes to make it that big of a deal about his percentage IMO.

Issue too is, Dinwiddie is a good guy. He would mesh with the team real well. However, he is gonna take the big money thats offered to him. I doubt he signs the MLE unless teams around the league don't chance it with his injury past.

there's a lot of confusion about s&ts, so here's this:
    upload_2021-6-24_13-8-20.png

i don't see where a team over the cap can't S&T. you just get hard-capped after.

No. We're over the cap regardless. The only means we have to sign someone who's not one of our own is the MLE and vet min

and once we S&T, we're hard-capped. so if we plan on doing that, we have to do it last. i don't think that's true if you're the recipient of the S&T, though. and i guess this means a team could never execute more than one S&T of its own players going out in a single offseason, which is kinda weird. i suppose it prevents massive cap circumvention.
