Honestly I think it depends. I think they try to get him help first, but they've tried that for 8 years now. It's not working. CJ is a good 3rd but he can't be their 2nd best player. SAS heard they may get to get KAT next to him. At some point, especially after everything he's done for the team for nearly a decade, you concede and blow it up. As Dame said in his post game, Denver was without their backcourt and they still weren't good enough to beat them or get out of the 1st round. I think if Dame really started to push for it, they entertain offers. I think the IG post was just postgame/ post season frustration. But it's the first crack we've seen from him. So who knows... it could be interesting. Everyone, including people in his circle, are telling him to bounce. At best, he's got what?...6 more cracks at this thing?

I think the Heat could be a legit option. They have money and some assets they could send out. I'll never count out what can happen if Riley gets a face to face. I think Dame and Butler approach the game in a similar fashion, too.

To get an asset instead of him walking in a year. I think Kuz is fair compensation if that's the concern. He could come in for either Tatum or Brown and they'd probably still run similar sets.

Yeah, I'm thinking the Heat are a probable option. They could offer Herro, Robinsion, Nunn and whatever contracts needed to make the salaries work. The Heat with Bam, Butler and Dame would be legit.

what's miami offering? he's got almost as much value right now as AD had when we traded for him. and AD was a FA who could depress the market a bit.

lillard can't do that. he can say "i won't like it there", but ultimately, he'll have to deal with it.

so what are lac/miami/ny's offers? a tyler-herro centered deal? an rj barrett-centered deal? an "i have no idea what the clips think they'd even start with" deal?

what do we have? something centered on THT?! i'm just having a really hard time seeing why portland engages.

on the other hand, portland pursuing towns or something makes a lot more sense. at some point, the wolves have to say that towns--as good as he is--continually leads them to last place. mccollum plus extras gets in the neighborhood, but minny doesn't have great use for him, so who knows.

one thing he needs to consider is that part of the reasons his teams fail is because they're generally pretty meh-to-bad defensively, and he's part of that.

I don’t see Dame going anywhere else. Of course I could be off base but I think he loves it in Portland.

You can flip that though and ask what does Portland have that would motivate Minny to ship out Towns? CJ + whoever is not gonna get it done.

i could see him reversing previous course and wanting out, as jsm said. i just don't see anyone from that list that can make a competitive offer. and i don't see why he would want to go to another non-destination city (he'd have the same problems), so the list is pretty short.

That's true. BUT look at GS. I'd say he's no more of a liability defensively than Curry and they've got jewelry. I think Miami could replicate that culture with Butler and Bam, they're not the same as Klay and Green, but can cover for his defensive shortcomings.

Sure, I would want CJ on my team, but you're comparing CJ's value to a TWolves team that is not under pressure to trade Towns vs. Herro + Robinson + Nunn + (Dipo or Ariza or Iggy to make salaries work) value to Portland that may soon be under pressure to move Dame from Dame. I agree that there is no obviously fair offer out there for Dame's true value. Clippers would have to offer PG13. Knicks would have to offer Randle. Portland may even demand Bam to do a deal. I just think the Heat would be able to make the best of less than ideal possible offers.

harris is at least something approaching a full basketball player. the other two are pure specialists who bring basically nothing else. but yeah, you're right, that's the market.

we've had TERRIBLE luck with specialists. give me more carusos and less bullocks.

I think if Lillard told the front office he wants to be traded to X team, they would try and make the trade just out of respect for Lillard. It might not be the best offer available but they would probably try to make it work as much as possible. He's done his job for the Blazers and earned every dollar. Might be time for the Blazers to rebuild. I think Lillard is starting to realize that this isn't competitive basketball anymore. He's on a bad team.

When are you going to do a legitimate AD for Lillard poll in LD rather than badgering a captive few people in GT during the worst loss of the year signaling the season was over?

Why do you have such a hard-on for me? You are legitimately always on my nuts. Hop off, will ya? If you want to make the poll, you can do so yourself.
