Damn, that's really weird. He's been hanging out with LeBron a lot. You can't really trust him lol. If LeBron wanted to give him an assistant coach gig, Lakers would do it. I'm sure Dudz would prefer to stay in LA.

What do you guys think it happen? Pelinka didn't want it? LeBron? Dudz?

sounds like dallas offered him a role we couldn't without stepping on other toes we cared about.

I want to look into Isaiah Hartenstein. Always felt he's been underrated. Pretty damn productive in spurts.

Good call, I liked him last year on the Cavs. Low profile move with big upside, I would do it

This is essentially the same thing that happened to Schroder.

Also I don’t think the lawsuit has any merit. It was ultimately Noel’s own decision to decline the $58 million that his previous agent negotiated, fire his agent, and hire Rich Paul.

Paul did give bad advice recommending Noel decline the money and become unrestricted, but that’s all it is… advice. Final decision is always the player’s.

Noel’s own fault for not spending more time in the gym working on his thumbs strength so as not to break one and miss 4 months of his season prior to FA once he decided to take his chances with the Sprewell strategy.

It actually depends on the facts of the case. If it's just a case of "bad advice," then yes, that's on Nerlens. But once Rich Paul became his agent, he owed Nerlens a fiduciary duty, which is another way of saying he was obligated to look out for Nerlens' interests and make decisions on that basis. It's possible, though, that Rich Paul had ulterior motives when he ultimately advised Nerlens to turn down the offer (e.g. he had another Klutch player he wanted to get that spot, or he wanted Nerlens on another team because it would somehow help LeBron win a championship, etc.) Keep in mind, a lot of other agents have accused Rich Paul of just that (making decisions that benefit LeBron, at the expense of other Klutch clients), though in some cases it's just post hoc sour grapes. I'll try and pull the complaint today and take a look and see if I can offer some insight. But also keep in mind that Nerlens' attorneys likely know that a case of "you gave me bad advice, now pay me money" is never getting off the ground, so there is likely more to it than just that.

I read that Paul sued Noel for owing him 200k. So it seems just a play to get back at him

for nerlens's case to hold water, i'd assume he'd need a third party to verify that klutch's advice was willfully negligent (i.e., someone has to tell a story in which klutch basically worked against noel's interests purposefully). that's tough to do.

that said, it does seem like klutch runs their agency in an interdependent fashion, so it wouldn't surprise me that they do things that benefit some at the expense of others, with the theory being that you'll be taken care of down the line if you take one for the team here.

i wonder if noel had stuck with them, would they have found a way to use their leverage and get him some of that cash back? would we be paying noel 15 per right now as a favor to the agency, for example?

Rich Paul has a habit of engulfing "business" in his favor. By having his meal ticket in Lebron, he feels he can do that.

Klutch likes to promote their, ahem, brand. But in reality, they operate just like the schleps they criticize in public.

I hope Paul signs Luka so he can engulf him to the Lakers when Lebron retires.

That ship sailed for the foreseeable future. Mark Cuban will never trade him to LA.

Luka is not an option for a while.

Honestly, I kind of disliked them before the Bev trade. They strike me as the ultimate AAU team. Russel, Towns (possible Simmons incoming) are all guys who seem like they believe the world owes them, and they never really grew out of the AAU mindset.
