    I guess he won
I see them dumping him for draft picks. He is definitely not a good fit here. We need a defensive center like Dwight.

He's a great head coach. One of the best X and O's guys in the business... reportedly, Luka and Rick weren't getting along.

They would have welcomed him back this next season, but he was under the gun to produce.

What's that say about Luka though? Jim Carey is one of the best coaches out there, and I have never heard of a player not liking him.

Luka = Cancer, maybe even Ebola.

he's a great coach, but the mavs haven't won a playoff series since 2011. he should've been let go a long time ago

Rick Carlisle got fired? When did that happen?
-- just saw the post above quoting WOJ's twitter posting. Still shocking.

well, rondo hated him, and i think he was fired in indy maybe because he had trouble getting along with folks?

he's the main reason they had any playoff appearances at all in that span. probably the second most valuable asset in the organization after luka, imo. maybe that says something about management, or maybe he played a role in their inability to attract FAs, but his teams have generally overperformed their talent.

I wouldn't say his teams over performed except when they won the championship. I also think free agents just don't want to play for Dallas. Just not an attractive free agent destination.

nah, indy fired him because they had a couple down years with that talented core of o'neal-artest-jackson

it was the pistons who fired him after they got to the ECF because he apparently wasn't getting along with the FO

Carlisle is Doc Rivers in a the sense that they live off their one fluke title and seem to run into the same issues when it matters year in and year out.

I don’t think Carlisle is a players coach and it’s a players league now. He’s a good coach but I don’t think guys like playing for him that much.

I don't think players like him either. Either that or he just has one of those necks that crazy guys just gotta squeeze!
