I'm assuming we do the Reaves + Rui deals before any possible S&T no?

I'm warming to the idea of Kyrie, since I'm sure he would perform in this team, but obviously would have to be at a discount, probably whatever we pay DLo + the Beasley option.

order doesn't matter when it comes to the apron. it's hard cap with respect to full MLE and incoming S&Ts. the only way to exceed 170 is by re-signing your own FAs, via outgoing s&ts (same thing, i guess), and using tpmle (though that's going away soon).

this is why we have to be really careful regarding the beasley/bamba decisions. there's a good chance that if we just cut them, we don't get to replace with anything close to their on-court value.

    Forget about Kyrie .
He is getting paid in Dallas
    Eric Pinkus
I hear he's going back to Dallas on a 3+1 [a player option on the fourth year]. His contract will line up [identically] with Luka's." one player agent said—which would total $210.1 million

I think Kyrie impacts the evolution and development of Reaves. But I get the interest because of the fit. Rather see our guy take over and become stronger when LeBron leaves.

I'm not really sure what Reaves will be in 5 years. Maybe a Jrue Holiday kind of player? A guy who's a solid #2 but that needs a #3 like the Bucks have with Middleton.

Can Rui be that guy? I'm impressed with his offensive impact in these playoffs, I think he grew a lot in confidence and he's set for a great start next season. 6th man of the year kind of year is what I envision for him

I would not chase a star next year. I would build on this team and let guys grow together. This team is good enough to be top 4 next year with LeBron and AD playing 60 games. We have a 10-11 solid rotation, I like this roster quite honestly:

    Dlo - Schroder
    Reaves - Beasley - Max
    LeBron - Troy - pick
    Vando - Rui - Saric
    AD - Bamba - Plumlee

    This team wins 50 games.
With this roster we can either play it out or have trade assets for a small impactful trade (Beasley and Bamba) or a big splash one (+Dlo and the pick) so we are in control. That's valuable after so many years being strangled without assets to move

Maybe Collins gets available. Maybe Turner. Maybe Lillard. Maybe Luka. If any gets available, we have assets to make a move if we want

In all honesty, if LeBron wasn’t injured and he had something left in the tank, along with DLo just playing like he did in the first two rounds, we are the Champions this year. No major changes needed. Try and replace DLo with someone who can shoot under pressure and get a decent backup big and we are set.

Yep. Prior to that injury and prior to the All Star break he was a beast on offense at least, scoring 30-35 a game. With that health and more attention to defense as he's giving now in the playoffs ..... he and AD are unbeatable. Now Jokic and Murray together are outplaying them as a duo.

I agree that with pre-foot injury LeBron we might won the whole thing. The thing is, he’s 38 and we don’t know if he’ll heal back to that level. Pre-foot injury LeBron was still one of the 10 best players in the league, but pre-high ankle sprain 2021 LeBron was arguably still the best player in the league. LeBron never came back from that injury the same, at his age we can’t assume he will from this one the same either.

Is that with Kyrie taking less money? I thought his max was 46.9 million?

This team needs some shooters. Other than Reaves these do are BRICK!

Not the answer..now we get even smaller. I love the idea of Kyrie over D'Angelo and Beasley, but that comes with the hardcap. We can't survive 82 games and the playoffs, with AD as our only defense IMO.

Blowing up a team that was contending is what got us in trouble to begin with.

    Again I say be patient.

We just made the Western Conference Finals with a team that wasn’t together even half the year.

Tweak the team to address our weaknesses, surgery and rest for our big two then we run it back.

If a great deal emerges then we pounce on it.

wouldn't mind if we signed Tristan Thompson again as a Backup C.

I really liked his contribution today, should have played more

Really curious to see what Raptors want to do. Van Fleet plus Poetl makes sense for thr Lakers and Toronto could move off salary.

Portland as well would love to get Grant on LA
