    AR as a backup PG
I'd be with you, if Dennis was ANYTHING even remotely close to being a PG. He isn't. He is a small scoring SG. I'd say AR is somewhere between DAR and Dennis on the PG skills scale, right now.

If DAR and Dennis go down, Bron's gonna be the PG. We have 20 odd games left, so assuming this doesn't happen right the next game... AR for 10 games playing 15 minutes of PG while Bron sits is perfectly fine.

I don’t think AR was comfortable bringing the ball down last game:giggle:

yeah, we've already had the "AR is a pg" debate, and i come away unconvinced.

i do share the (legitimate though funny) concern that ham would be tempted to play said third pg instead of wings, though.

Austin isn't a PG, he's a big two, small three. I can see him in a 3 guard lineup with D'Angelo and Malik though. Probably see a good bit of that against a team like Golden State. That's probably our closing lineup against them, you get to hide Lebron on D against Draymond. If he has trouble with Wiggins, insert Jarred in his spot.

There is nothing to be convinced of. See (before he went down with the injury) the amount of possessions, especially with the second unit, he was the one initiating the offense.

Now that Dennis is on the bench, he is the nominal PG, but he is not better than AR and I hope the Goblin realises that.

Then again, it took Rob Brad-Pitting that s*** Money Ball style to get him to NOT start a bunch of midgets.

Barkley on the CBA and expects a lockout. For once he’s having some good takes.

Charles Barkley Predicts NBA Lockout Following Player Trade Demands
POSTED ON FEBRUARY 18, 2023 BY CHRISTIAN GRANTHAM
    [IMG]
Charles Barkley believes recent behaviour from NBA players could lead to a lockout.

Barkley pointed to players like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving earning max money and then ditching their team when the going gets it tough, saying it was the sort of thing that the NBA would insist on stamping out in the next collective bargaining agreement.

“You can’t take all my money, then say, ‘Hey, I want a divorce,’” Barkely told reporters at All-Star Weekend in Utah. “So, I’m pretty sure that’s the next thing that’s gonna come out of the CBA. I have no doubt in my mind that these guys are gonna get locked out.

“Y’all baby these dudes so much today,” Barkley continued. “They don’t want to play back-to-back games. Every time a fan says something, they get them tossed. If they’re not happy, they want to get traded. It’s going to come to a head in the next CBA.”

The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association will meet about the current collective bargaining agreement on March 31 with the hopes of negotiating a new deal.

The NBA’s seven-year CBA expires after the 2023-24 season.

That hasn’t happened since the 2011-12 season, where there were no games played for 161 days, resulting in the season being shortened to 66 games and not starting until Christmas Day.

the cba is only about money. if everyone's happy there, things will be fine, imo.

not sure what to do about star trade demands (though they're not at all a new phenomenon), but in the spirit of the above--what if when a player that meets certain levels of performance is traded, his former team gets a chunk of ongoing revenue (aside from the trade details) from the destination team? like maybe the share of BRI or tax disbursement gets higher/lower?

players won't go for non-guaranteed deals (they'll strike, for like, ever), and owners don't want something wherein a player CAN'T be traded once they sign a max deal because then they'd be stuck with mistakes (like if dallas couldn't have traded porzingis, for example).

so i don't think the solution is easy, and i'm not even positive the problem is that great. let's see what happens from this latest round of trade demands in terms of on-court results...

should be interesting to hear what sticking points they have in negotiations this time around, and how the sides publicly spin things for the press. Millionaires arguing with billionaires is always interesting.

Should be interesting to see him avoid blame after tanking two star laden teams in the same year.

They needed a savvy point guard and they finally got him. I applaud this move.

The Clippers are the Lakers little brother with an inferiority complex trying to prove they are better. :RW Barfbag:
