This was a masterclass trade! Now can Ham actually coach them into a cohesive unit, is the pending question

    I’ll worry about Ham tomorrow.

we are rid of Russ and improved our shooting. It’s a good night.

Lost in all this is that the Laker is all about family, reuniting Scotty Pippen Jr. with his father Malik Beasley. [IMG]

We gave Ham 4 years unfortunately, I believe his deal lines up with Rob’s extension. As for his coaching, yeah, he WILL start Russ with Bev or Schröder, he can’t stop himself, Bev has to go. I don’t even look at this trade as saving THIS season though, it’s for me more about flexibility going forward and having players now teams might actually want to trade for should we want to go another direction. The roster is finally more balanced and less top heavy.

i don't think so. beasley is a poor man's trent at a lower cost. bev can now fit nicely in a suddenly decent-sized starting lineup as the defensive glue guy. also, i don't think ownership is going to want to pile more money on top of all this.

I'd love to trade Bev for a wing after this. Prince from Minny?

I believe Nick Nurse will be entering the final year of his contract with Toronto in 2023-24. Would love to get him if Darvin flops next year.

    Most likely.

Beasley isn't a splash move, but the dude can cook. We need guys off the pine who have the capability of extending leads, or at the very least maintaining them. He's shown he can do that.

Gary Trent Jr. is who we should be focusing on before the deadline, even though that may cause problems regarding who starts at SG.

I second this. His championship with Toronto was some of the best coaching I've ever seen.

I doubt we'd want to pay another coach to bounce though.

I don’t think we’re done, I can see a small move being made still, Aaron Larsuel was saying on Twitter spaces last night that there’s a better than not chance the Lakers make multiple moves, one for Russ and one for Bev. I’ve got to hold out that hope lol

he's a klutch guy, too, right?

much cheaper to cycle coaches. ham will get next year, but if it's this again or even close, he gone.

    i'm dubious, but why not?

i'm not sure we can save the season at this point, but i'm much more optimistic about next year right now.
