I agree I would like that, but Hield isn't worth a 1st all by himself when we are taking on his $20 million in 2024 and the Pacers are kind of wanting to move on from him...

Makes it a second or even a couple... but yes, that would be sweet:

    PF Rui Hachimura
    SF LeBron James
    C Anthony Davis
    SG Buddy Hield
    PG Mike Conley

    G Austin Reaves
    G Malik Beasley
    G Dennis Schroder
    F Jarred Vanderbilt
    C Thomas Bryant

    F Wenyen Gabriel
    F Troy Brown Jr.
    G Max Christie

Makes sense, I doubt we trade for both Beasley and Hield when we just scoffed at including Reaves and Christie in a Kyrie trade.

yeah, moving russ without getting another ballhandler is problematic. you're a schroder injury away from having to play reaves as a full-time pg.

also curious about harris after getting rui. very similar players, imo. harris is better but much more expensive. only one year left on that deal, though, so that's nice.

I'm not big on this 76ers trade. If Utah really is only one FRP I do it.

like all others, it depends on the draft picks involved. if, say, the philly one is well-protected, i might take it over the utah deal.

Hope you're right. I'm so happy we have been self-controlled and didn't jump into so many deals so far. I understand the pressure to execute, but the world doesn't end this season. It's true the West is open and Lebron's window closing, which makes more willing to add some risk on our next deal but FRPs for Conley and Beasley is terrible business.

I'll keep beating the drum on this, after we trade both picks, this is our situation after LeBron expires, in the summer of 2025:
one FRP to trade in 2031
No running contracts (maybe we have Reaves, Rui and Max and a couple rookies in longer contracts by then)
We probably re-sign AD to another max consider we don't own our picks in 2027 and 2029, regardless of his status at the time as we can't tank
We operate under the cap for a couple years as we rely only on FA

We WILL NOT be able to trade for any top 40 player until 2028, when we have again 3 picks to trade

I’m fairly confident if we wouldn’t trade 2 firsts for Hield and Turner, then we won’t trade 2 for friggin Conley, Beasley, and Vanderbilt. I’m sure we’re talking to other teams as well, no way we put all our eggs in the Danny Ainge basket, he’s always looking to screw us over.

Did we. Not watch Tobias on the clippers he is overpaid and we're left with a other Russ who can't shoot consistently

harris running the break with Lebron helps. Harris doesn’t make momentum destroying plays 7 or 8 times a game. We need his height and his skill. Lakers can win games without out of this world shooting. It’s the bad plays they can’t get passed.

I'd take thybulle over. Harris all day........ I hope. We not trading just for someone to be running the break w Bron cuz his shooting is shaky shooting 36-38% from 3. Basicly another wing where we have rui :LLLLLebronlaughing:

Tobias Harris is a better fit than Westbrook, but he's another severely overpaid player that we wont be able to trade next year without giving up picks.

seriously hope we dont give up any unprotected FRP picks if that deal is real

he's a career 37% shooter from three and has been above that the past 4 years on about 4 attempts per game. this is not at all like russ.

Not against Harris, not my favorite option and not my least favorite.

If I'm dealing with Philly, I ask for Thybulle's inclusion and if they won't add him, settle on House.

So you don't want Harris because he'd be another Russ, but you want Thybulle? I hope the sarcasm just isn't getting through to me lol.

Latest from Fischer... we'll call it Fisch Sticks

    Lot of buzz around Toronto
Read elsewhere, maybe Stein, that nearly everyone talked to them yesterday. They are the busiest on the phones.

    The OG race (includes us)
Some teams will bow out of that race to chase KD this summer
Point Guards Traveling -- FVV, Rozier, Russell, Lowry
    Hornets in play
Former championship center on the block
Any Hawks soaring out of Atlanta?

The first part of that tweet says +picks going with Westbrook and the last part says "Lakers don't want to trade their 1st round picks"....that says to me it would be costing only a 2nd round pick from us and other picks from the 76ers (who get Bogdanovic and Bagley), and being the ones to do the real "ponying up".

It is basically asking us to take on Harris' second year and the disgruntled Korkmaz second year as well for $44 MILLION combined. That is a lot for sure, but Harris- even at that $39 million hit next season- is not even remotely the same as Westbrook.

Harris is still a good player and would help us tremendously and I had interest in Korkmaz the second I read him demanding a trade yesterday, You add those two players AND get rid of Westbrook while it costing only a 2nd round pick- I jump at that.

No, it doesn't solve the guard mess and you would still likely need to move PatBev+ Walker to get someone, preferably a point guard; but if you can make that 76ers trade without it costing a 1st round pick, the Lakers should jump at it...
