This usually fizzles out when it’s as transparent as this

Not all the time. Last two times Harden was traded it was talked about over and over. Both involved the Nets...

At least we only have a few days of this rather than a whole summer.

Kyrie ends up a Laker or stays a Net. Nowhere else. Nets are 90%, Lakers 10%.

The notorious Lakers/Lebron haters..Bayless, Barkley, Scoop Jackson and Cowherd, would all have a stroke if Kyrie ended up in Purple and Gold by Thursday. "The League is allowing Lebron and the Lakers to stack their team, in order to prop up Lebron on his way out"!

" This trade isn't good for the League "
" Any Championship they win will be tainted ".

On and on...lol..it will be an epic feeding frenzy of Lakers hating on display by Friday.

Huge hypotheticals involved, but from where I'm sitting, the best thing about Kyrie coming to LA would be that we got someone to take Russ off our hands. That, and the way KD would react, Brooklyn's dream of a ring is a loud fizzle. From KD/Kyrie/Beardie to...zero. Must suck.

(I really do think the lesson about having 3 superstars applies here: does the chemistry work? Sometimes it does. Just think if KD decided to stay with GSW. It was working for them. A lot of the time, it doesn't. The beauty of having two bona fide great/HoF-like players AND a solid cast of role players who all know how to play together? Man I love that kind of team.)

Kyrie wants to go somewhere they'd pay for multi-years. Do I see it happening? No. But I've been wrong a lot about this stuff in the past, so who knows. Would we have to give up 2 1st rounds? 'Cuz that would blow.

Also: IF he comes here, he best be on good behavior. I don't want to root for a team where a guy just decided to come out and say (again), "the Jews own the media and have brainwashed everyone into thinking the Earth is round 'cuz I done seen it on a YouTube video, people!" Or some jit like that. My gawd, what a jughead he's been. Transcendentally talented player; colossal dips**t in so-called "real life."

SMH..If we get the chips...the Lakers fans would absolutely love him. There isn't a team in the West or NBA fwiw..that would go into a 7 game series, feeling confident about their chances of winning the series. Lebron and Kyrie were trumped by Golden State adding KD. Anthony Davis changes the equation, injuries would be the biggest threat.

Money wise I keep seeing that 2 years is the deal, if he got traded here, I think it's 2 years 78 million, is the max he could get here, and then it's a new contract.

That's less than what Russ was owed when he came. He could be as kooky as he wanted to be off the court, as long as he showed up and showed out on the court. That flat earth stuff started in Cleveland, they did alright. I imagine that he would be on his best behavior, for at least two years too.

Lol..KD would probably end up back in the bay next season.

I think KD's mindset in this right now is first and foremost in the Net's mind and above and beyond everything else being discussed.

First of all is KD jockeying for the Nets to concede to Kyrie and his wishes for a max extension without considerations? If not, expect to see his name thrown into the trade hat in the next few days. His actions will largely determine the Net's actions on this entire scene.

Slick 2021: hope you're right. Russ and his $47 mil this year is not worth it. He's been "better" for us this year, but now the bar is really really RILLY low.

No doubt Kyrie makes us a lot better, but I'm not sold that he has us immediately waltz into the Finals. Oh man I'd hope he'd make that much of an impact, but I just doubt it.

What really sucked after AD went down: when Lebron needed a breather, we struggled. That would be over. I also assume AD will have another injury episode that will cause him to miss a few games, 'cuz: history. And my gawd, Lebron needs to get closer to 30-32 mins/game.

Everyone: remember to drop in and laff at me in my face and say "Told ya so, MFer!" IF we get Kyrie and IF we get to...imma say the WCF. Anything beyond that just feels far too dreamy for me right now. Maybe I have PTSD from the Post-Bubble Times.

I’m putting this at 75/25 he becomes a Laker vs goes somewhere else. Joe Tsai wants to strangle him at this point. Zero chance he stays past the deadline.

We shall find out by next Thursday, the trading deadline, and also probably (?) the day Lebron breaks the NBA All-Time Scoring Record, on a TNT game at home, vs Giannis and MIL. Hell: I can see it all go down on the same day. It would be Lakers Drama Day. Lakers would be on everyone's tongues the next day around the water cooler. But then we'd need to actually WIN a lot of games.

We will see how it all plays out, since Thursday is the deadline. If the guy is really saying, that he isn't signing, even if the Nets offered him the max, that marriage is over in Brooklyn. It might just be personal, with him and the owner at this point. Denver is the only team in the West, that is looking any good right now. I just don't think that they would do any better, than they did in the bubble against us. Of course someone else, can go out and pull off a blockbuster of their own by Thursday, and make it more interesting.
At least we don't have to wait but 6 more days, to find out one way or the other.

one way to know if people think it's real is how they talk about it. right now, folks aren't fully convinced because they're framing it as a good thing for us. once the tide turns to "kyrie isn't worth it", you'll know it's happening.

    Real talk.

we really might win the chip with this Big 3. I cannot stand Kyrie’s antics at all, and his stance on many issues is shockingly stupid.

But as basketball, him and Lebron have something special man. Those Cleveland teams were dragging s*** talent outside of them and Love to the finals every year. Lebron isn’t the same Lebron, but AD is better than Love. Plus the NBA is a little weaker now IMO with the lack of super teams.

We can easily get the 4 seed still. Make the trade if the Nets bow to Kyrie's request. LeBron, AD, and Kyrie can win any playoff series.

Durant's reaction is the next shoe to drop as far as the Irving situation goes. I know the Nets don't want to ruffle his feathers any further (and have him asking out as well) and will look for a trade that keeps the Nets as competitors, which will be difficult with a week till the deadline.

They are NOT going to want Westbrook back and even though I doubt anyone is willing to offer a 1st round pick, much less two AND take on contracts (Harris' $20 million owed for 2023 for example), other teams can offer a better "competitive" package in a trade for him than the Lakers can- unless LA involves a 3rd team.

    Spurs/Jazz come to mind
