All these trades suck and so does this team.

AD has to come back and play All NBA with LBJ. And hope that they stay healthy. It won't win us a chip, but at least we'll have a chance.

We're 20-24. But the rest of the Western Conference is weak, so we're fortunate.

 

Don’t care what Parcells said. LeBron and AD healthy wouldn’t have your puncher’s chance to win a chip with this team if the whole roster sucked. Can’t have it both ways.

 

Winning a chip? No. Meaningful playoff run? Sure.

don't think the mavs give up bullock for reddish unless ny is sweetening the deal.

i think rose is going to get bought out. if we were to trade russ, rose would be an interesting russ replacement from the buyout market.

 

Yes you are entitled to do that as are other members entitled to call out what are perceived in their opinions bad takes and /or “whining”. Unless that’s your thing and there’s a “whining” thread for that. Ignore is weak.

 

You'll likely be here in June/July spouting from your 'high horse" and "eternal optimist" once you realize that we will be done with the season by May (best case scenario).

But that's okay. We're a franchise wandering in the Klutch/LBJ desert, and I'm not disappointed with that, but it is what it is.

On topic, I hope we get more options than what's been reported.

But in the trades and rumors of trades thread, rather than the whining thread, what's supposed to be done with all the trades you're aware of suck and the whole team sucks, in spite of numerous players on it that most definitely don't suck? From your original and then doubled down statements. I'm taking you literally, otherwise don't say what you don't mean. Our chances most definitely don't look "good" at this point toward winning a ring without a real good trade or even two. But that's a whole different statement from implying LeBron, AD, Reaves, Christie, Walker, Brown, Gabriel, Bryant and even Anderson and Schroder and this year's version of bench Russ .....

it's interesting because i said the same thing a while back (why is everyone upset at lebron's supporting cast? look at what luka's working with).

but i would say that the mavs built a decent team around him that generally suits his strengths (good wing defenders, some catch and shoot guys). honestly, letting brunson walk was just a huge loss for them. not only was he proving to be a good fit as a secondary ballhandler and driver of offense when luka sat, but they lost the salary slot, too, which could have been used to bolster the roster.

the other issue is that mcgee has been unplayable. that's a three-year mini mle deal for a guy that kidd basically won't put in. he's their damon jones.

all that said:

wood, dinwiddie, finney smith, green, kleber, and bullock should be strong enough to make them a threat again in the playoffs. they've just been missing green/DFS/kleber for big stretches this year. well, that and kidd doesn't seem to value the regular season much.

 

i'd be surprised if we made an early move that was small, as it could limit our options. i suppose you can slot lonnie in for nunn's salary in any move, but with how lonnie has played, you better be getting a good return.
