I agree that the team has to gel and we have to see how the pieces fit, they have to play it out and such. But this is not like the Clippers, they were celebrating doing something that they hadn’t yet done and that the franchise had never done. The Lakers are crowned, they won it all, they’re the champs and on paper they improved the roster at almost every position, so we the fans get to gloat, talk trash, and rub it in, that’s part of the deal.
eh, i look at it like i looked at last year, when it was reversed in the eyes of most: winning the offseason isn't winning the title. lots can happen. tons of people on this forum told me all year there was no way we'd win because the clippers were an unstoppable juggernaut. and i kept saying: you just need to be in the mix, then see what happens. we should be in the mix again. as should the clippers. let's see what happens.
I call B.S. If I go back through your post history, I'm sure I will find you picking the Houston Rockets. Not just picking them, but picking them to have the first undefeated post season in NBA history. You probably had them challenging the Warriors 73 wins too.
We have 3 roster spots open..I would keep Dudley though basketball wise it doesn't had much as we are loaded at the 4. Then, we need a defensive guard or a sniper (we can't get 2 with Dudz) and a center. We are also lacking a wing defender, but with Dudley and McKinnie that's a bit redundant though neither are good enough to share minutes with Matthews, so would get one if it's really good Top best guys available on those positions Batum Ellington Dedmon Chandler Courtney Lee Wanamaker Bellinelli Glen Robinson III Mbah a Moute Marvin Williams Poetl Mahinmi If we snatch two of the top 3 is not even fair. It would probably be the best roster ever. I'm worried with the center position, Gasol will not play all games and we need to cover him. LeBron / Schroder KCP / Caruso Wes / Kuz / McKinnie AD / Keef Gasol / Harrell
regular season you can get by with trez at center most nights, imo. one more body for fouls and such would be good. i'm still a taj gibson fan for that spot.
He signed with the Pistons: https://www.freep.com/story/sports/...e-ellington-stats-detroit-pistons/6416593002/
With such a quick turnaround to the season it was such a good idea to add young legs to this team. We swapped out all the older vets for young/hungry players. They'll help with Lebron's early season load managing.
i'm hoping schroder can win us a few games by getting hot--something we didn't have at all last year outside our two stars.
We have many more scoring options than we did last Year. Good luck Doubling AD or LeBron with this Roster. Heck, our Bench would probably be a borderline Playoff Team on it's own.
well, i think that's overselling it, but yes, i think that on paper, this is a better roster than last year's and that we should be able to rest AD and lebron more than we did last year.
Ha,, Well maybe I'm getting a bit overexcited, but I can easily see Caruso, Matthews, Kuzma, Morris & Harrell being able to compete with many Teams on their own... Not a lot of Teams can say that about their Bench.
This team is so fun to play in 2k. I experimented with a few lineups, but ended up liking our biggest contracts the most: Schroeder, KCP, Lebron, AD, Harrell. I didn’t even have to really use Lebron or AD as primary pieces of the offense, they mainly just operated as decoys getting easy buckets while I feasted off the Schroeder/Harrell pick and roll with KCP spacing the floor. In real life, I think the starting lineup we go with will be basically the same as last year but with Wes replacing Green, Gasol replacing McGee: Lebron/KCP/Matthews/AD/Gasol.
That's what I see as well, Helljumper. Will be great to have that floor spacing that Gasol will provide and the shooters - Wes Jr and KCP should have wide open looks. Unlike Green I think Matthews will have a field day with that. Also Gasol knocking down open looks. The starting unit should be a lot better and not as slow to score as the one last season. Then bring in that second unit with Schroder and Harrell, Caruso, Kuz and Morris and bam!! That's a heck of a bench!
