I don't understand this one at all. I'm still hoping the Knicks get Westbrook at least for the entertainment value.

He's got one year left on his deal. He was playing like the Hayward of old last season. He's a good enough defender and a good scorer who won't demand the ball. If our starting backcourt were him and Schroder with Lebron and AD at the forward spots, we would be set.

Oh god - guarantee you the C Bags are going to get the Hawks pick and then they'll have FOUR picks in the 2020 draft and Ainge will be hailed a genius! Or they'll take those 4 picks and try to move into the top 3 in the draft...lol

Hmm. This one surprises me a bit. Would you do this? I like LaVine a lot but I worry about not giving up too much talent necessarily but too many players for one. I don't like Caruso's name in the package. If we could exclude him I'd be down with it though.

NBA Rumors: Lakers Could Get Zach LaVine For Kuzma, Caldwell-Pope, Caruso & Cook, Per ‘Fadeaway World’

With the NBA lifting its trade moratorium on Monday, a number of teams have pulled off blockbuster deals ahead of this week’s draft. Although the Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly set to acquire point guard Dennis Schroder from the Oklahoma City Thunder, a recent list of suggested trades noted that the team could theoretically make a bigger move by swinging a deal for Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls.

Although LaVine has yet to play in an All-Star game as he prepares for the seventh season of his NBA career, Fadeaway World pointed out that the 25-year-old is “developing into a big-time player” due to his athleticism, ability to score from anywhere on the floor, and explosive dunks. The outlet suggested that LaVine could be a good fit with the Lakers’ style of play as someone who could become the team’s third star alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Given that Kuzma hasn’t produced as expected as the third offensive option in Los Angeles, the publication recommended a trade that would send him and backup guards Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Alex Caruso, and Quinn Cook to the Bulls in exchange for LaVine. In order for this deal to go through, Caldwell-Pope would need to sign a new contract with the Lakers due to his status as a free agent.

According to his Basketball-Reference player page, LaVine averaged 25.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists for the Bulls in 2019-20 and also made 45 percent of his field goals and 38 percent of his attempts from three-point range. If the proposed transaction pushes forward, the former first-round draft pick could address the Lakers’ outside shooting, which was widely seen as one of the club’s most glaring weaknesses even as it won a championship earlier this year by defeating the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals.

The problem with Lavine on this team is we would then have LeBron, AD, Schroder, and with Lavine, there's not enough possessions to go around for everyone to maximize their potential. LeBron sucks at playing off the ball so what's he going to do out there with two guards who are high scorers? Lakers need more specialists who can 3/D, rebound, defend, and not require the ball to have an impact. I'm okay with Schroder and Lavine but the Lakers won by playing defense so hopefully they don't move away too much from that.

I was worried for a second that that was a real rumor with legs, but it’s just a theoretical idea instead... good. I don’t like that trade at all.

We just won the ship... why would we trade away a third of the team’s contributors when it’s not for an amazing player like Lillard or Yanis or something? Zach is nice and all but he isn’t in league with the best yet IMO.

No that trade makes no sense and I’m glad it’s just a thought experiment.

That's a trade you make for Bradley Beal, not Zach Lavine. Nice try. I am not even replying to that post just so it doesn't get more pub. What an asinine rumor cooked up by a nobody, who ever they are.

lavine is flashy but no substance, his brand of gm doesn't lead to wins, thats why chi been in lotto for all of his tenure so far with no change in site....I wouldn't be to impressed with his counting stats, not much different than Wiggins with advantage of 3pt shot

It's debatable as to whether or not Lavine is better than any one of those three players if you put him on a team as a third option...and with Schroder...he might be the 4th option. But this is just an idea by this "publication" and not a real rumor.

I happy with the first move and really like to see what our GM has up his sleeve for the next trade.

honestly, if we just brought most of the rest back, we're already in very good shape to defend the title. the others are the ones *scrambling*.
