Shams just reported that Russell Westbrook wants out of Houston. I never thought it was going to work, honestly. Russell Westbrook's inability to shoot the ball makes it a tough pairing for any superstar. My honest thoughts are the Rockets should go rebuild mode. Harden+Russ can fetch you a truckload of young assets.

Lol man...this is really gonna happen huh?

I think someone said it earlier - but the Thunder probably do the trade with the Clippers just to get out from paying Cp3 44M. They will have Beverley and Zubac that will extend past next year but it's gonna be 14M and 7M, respectively, so 21M isn't such a big deal and likely if they needed to move either player, they can do it rather easily imo. 21M still beats paying 44M to CP3 at age 37...so I think OKC will do that deal.

Westbrook wanting out huh? Man...who's going to take on that contract? Who's going to take on Westbrook? I guess maybe Philly could do it? But I doubt Morey wants a reunion with Westbrook....maybe the HEAT? Maybe MINNESOTA? UTAH? Phoenix? HAWKS? Heck....the Clippers???

I guess all the same teams that could be interested in CP3 will be interested in Westbrook too...Westbrook is going to be 33 TOMORROW, but he's still a few years younger than CP3 (and as I type this, makes SO much sense that WEstbrook is a scorpio lmao)

There's so much to dig through but looks like free agency and the draft are gonna be LIT and stuff is already happening.

Beverley, Lou, Zubac, McGruder and Kabengele equals like 35M. So they can make it happen.

I hope it does. Clippers lose all that depth that everyone told us made them the deepest team in the NBA. Plus they'll lose some more of their limited size. They definitely need a ball handler, but not at that cost. Our size will crush them.

And Westbrook, I think the Knicks are a viable option. They're not going to get good FAs. Why not use that money to eat one of these gigantic contracts? That'll put butts in the seats (when fans can attend) and keep them MEDIA relevant. He doesn't have a lot of options at that price tag of destinations. Plus selfishly, I'd love to see the Thibs and Westbrook fights.

And then just fill in pieces around CP2, Snake and Paula I guess? S***! If somehow they all stayed healthy CP2 could make the other 2 a lot more effective? Someone talk me down here, it's not been enough time passed from me enjoying their big implosion to having to I guess worry about them again?

Edit. Oh OK thanks JSM for that. Our posts crossed.

Meh, if he goes to the Clippers he’ll get a season ending injury in round 2 or 3 anyway. Left a cursed franchise after witnessing the curse in person, saw the curse take out the Clippers again in round 2, and deciders yeah I want me some more of that? Ok, you deserve what you get at that point.

I have no idea what team Westbrook would work well under.

The most logical destination would be the Knicks, and let him play the Derrick Rose role for Thibadeau. Only problem with that is that the Knicks don’t have all those defensive minded role players like the Bulls did. Not to mention it would be such a typical knicks thing to do to take on a big contract with maybe 2 good years left.

If not the Knicks, Miami would be an option for a Westbrook trade. His age lines up with Butler, and Westbrook does have a similar mentality that could fit well in the Miami culture.

Whether they blow up the entire team or not, they're done. A rookie coach, new GM, a roster that can only play a couple of ways with personnel, two disgruntled stars who don't have faith in the organization, one won't return your calls, one who just demanded a trade, and your role players are all disgruntled because they don't like how there's a different set of rules for those 2. Jesus!

Harden has one foot out the door already. He's not wasting his prime years there.

Welp - load up the boats. Everybody coming for us.

Harden is east bound - Miami, Philly or BKN.

I also would NOT be shocked to see Boston go after someone like Harden and dangle Jaylen Brown as trade bait...
