Let's say hypothetically the Lakers can get Harden. Would ya'll still be Lakers fans? Haha

Yeah, I'd find a way to still be a Laker fan. KCP for Harden, who says no? :)

I find it ironic. Many in Laker Nation hate CP3, yet also say how he should have been ours... and then probably would take him now in a heartbeat lol

FVV potential salary is in the 15-20 per yr, Id rather spend that on KCP and I dont even want to give KCP that $ either

    Damn...KCP opted out too?

That's now Dwight, Rondo and KCP that all opted out...those are 3 key guys for us.

I really hope we can just get these guys at the same rate....or just overpay them for one more year to keep flexibility for 2021.

The good thing is - at least we won this year. Bad thing is...the guys that all had player options basically all balled out this year so they can cash in on that.

But man...don't they wanna run it back next year in a normal year? Shut up all these haters once again?

CP3 is a heck of a player, but his contract is horrendous. He just had his first healthy playoff run in forever too, so I don't trust his hammies.

Blow everything up to have 3 pieces, and 2 of them over 35 with high mileage? What could go wrong? I do hate his flopping, but players like him that choose that huge contract in their career twilight really limit their options. He'll be living with that decision. I can't see any reason to bail the Thunder out of that contract.

I think it's interesting that both Stan Van Gundy and Jeff Van Gundy are actively seeking head coaching roles with the Rockets and the Pelicans. But especially Jeff after having been out of the game for so long.

I like both of them, and the league benefits with them being involved in some way whether from the booth or not. They are just characters hahaha, but also solid basketball minds.

Some guys that are either unrestricted or have player options and opt out

    - Evan Turner
    - Joe Harris (I think he would be hard to pry away from BKN)
    - Bismack Biyombo (Assuming Dwight walks and takes a huge payday somewhere)
    - Mason Plumlee
    - Paul Millsap (I know what you're thinking but the guy is a Wiley vet. Imagine how valuable David West was in his later days to GSW)
    - Moe Harkless
    - Patrick Patterson
    - Jae Crowder (not a bad replacement if KCP takes a payday somewhere else)
    - Kyle Korver
    - Jeff Teague
    - Derrick Favors
    - Jahlil Okafor (not a bad project to pick up to give AD some rest in regular season)
    - Nerlens Noel
    - Pau (final season with Lakers as AD backup?)
    - Jeff Green

surprisingly a ton of frontcourt and shot blocking available. All these options are unrestricted free agents, there might be more guys in the pool if restricted players don't get picked up.

Don't these clubs get tired of retreads every year? Do they do any leg work?

Proven "known" performance vs going with unknowns. When you are playing with hundreds of millions a year, some teams prefer to go with a "safer" choice vs an unknown. I can't fault some of that logic.

But with so much time away from the game and the grind, are they in touch with the new generation of players and how they need to be managed? it's just as likely to be a train wreck as a success IMHO.

They’re really going to make it difficult for Rob again. I thought everyone was coming back and we just upgrade Dudz and Cook.

E’Twaun Moore is intriguing. Injured for a lot of last year. Before that he was quietly playing good ball. He can get to the rim relatively well and hits 3's at a 40% clip. Could be had for cheap and basically provide the spacing Green gave us

Regarding CP3, there would be some irony into arguably the greatest ever Flipper winning his one and only championship as a Laker lol

The CP3 rumors are disconcerting. Please don't try this. Concentrate on Oladipo.

as others have stated, i'm not even sure how you reconcile his current contract (~$40M?) without completely gutting our team... we would essentially be going all-in on CP3, which is not advisable... i say go after primary targets first (Beal/FVV/Oladipo/Gallo) and then go from there... but i don't even consider CP3 in the realm of feasibility/possibility.
