Lebron and AD are gonna mess up the league worse by how they gelled than winning the title this year. And we aren't giving enough credit to the TEAM. The role players have been excellent all year even with those who have struggled. There has been no drama, no headache, no nothing with ALL the craziness of 2020. That to me is amazing. So, Lebron being a pass first guy with AD being a team guy and all the other role guys buying in, the 3rd star is very likely going to try to get traded to LA in the off season. that's a weird premise--that the heat are a lot like the warriors, pre-kd. it's barely defensible. adebayo is definitely like draymond green, but other than that, i'm not really sure how the parallels work except that they will have a lot of cap space in a year. difference is that GS had already won a title and had two young all-nba guys on the squad when the chance to get durant arose.

miami may very well get giannis (makes a lot of sense, tbh), but that doesn't make them the kd/steph/klay warriors.


regarding the other thing you highlighted: i'm very curious as to what people think of oladipo's value around the league right now. i'd peg it pretty low myself. no way i'd give up a high pick or a prospect with allstar potential for him at this point. will anyone?

 

i think the third star trade demand is more likely to happen during next season, but yeah, the team has come together so well this year. definitely greater than the sum of its parts, and that's a credit to leadership and the organization as a whole.

the press won't give the lakers an inch, but this is the truth. they were an underdog despite having lebron and AD, and now everyone's re-writing it all because the favorites lost to the teams we're beating.

 

If Miami gets Giannis next year, Miami will be a problem. They will likely own the East for the next 3 or 4 years until Butler is done. Giannis would fit perfectly into that team and offense.

Yeah, I think that will be one of the more interesting ones to monitor. Cause right now I don't know if his value will be based on what he was, his injury, bubble play... makes his landing spot all but impossible to predict until some of the offers this off season leak to Shams or Woj.

If it's low, I'm definitely offering up Green, Kuz, and a pick. He'll scare some teams off and since he's expiring, he will have some potential say in where he goes. If there is interest from NY and he says there's no way he'll reup, then I don't think they can afford to make that play. For us, even if he leaves it's no more a rental than it would've been with Green and Kuz (cause I don't want to get stuck with that next deal).
