I do think Sacramento ultimately moves Buddy Hield this offseason.

The only possible trade I can see work with the Lakers salary-matching wise would be Danny Green+Kuzma for Hield.

The Kings consider this to get out of Hield’s contract, which expires in 2024. They get a serviceable 3 and D player in Geeen who’s a expiring contract and Kuzma would be the young player with potential they get in return.

From the Lakers side, they would get a 27 year old shooting guard who is a career 41% shooter from 3.

Another thing to consider is that The Lakers were also set up to have another max contract spot in the summer of 2021. By taking on Hield, you lose that.

That’s the only thing that would make me hesitate on trading for Hield. The Lakers have really no draft picks until 2025, Lebron will be 37 in the 2021/22 season. Cap space may be the best way to get another younger running mate to pair with AD/Bron, and we could probably get a player better than Hield (I don’t think we can get Giannis, and I question how he and AD even fit together).

Has anyone started a thread about who is going to be available after 2021?

yeah, i don't think hield is worth giving up flexibility. if his deal was a year or two shorter, i'd be comfortable risking that we could move him if need be, but not if it runs until 2024. i wouldn't be looking at anyone whose deal ended after 2022, tbh. unless it was a no-brainer star. this is why oladipo makes sense. beal's got a player option in 2022, could walk right into space if we have it, and would be a great fit with lebron and AD.

i don't think giannis is coming here, so i'm not super concerned about keeping room for 2021 FA.

I wonder what it would take to get Beal?
    Kuz/Green/Caruso enough?

No way I would take those three for Beal if I was the Wash GM. We don't have a legit offer we can make for him. Keep in mind Beal averaged 30ppg this season. In spite of not making all NBA, those kinds of players are in very short supply.

Too much, IMO. In context of when Beal's contract is up and how much does he really want out. 30PPG on a s***ty WAS with injured Wall isn't much. Kuz would probably average 20 - 22 under the same cirucmstances. Hell he had 16PPG with LeBron on the team. +15MIL expiring +one of the BETTER defenders in the league on an extremely friendly contract?

We'd be lucky to get Beal for those players. But it's not going to happen.

I am not sure I value Beal as much as you do. What does he do so much better than Kuzma that it warrants sending AC + 15M expiring for him? I remeber of thinking of him as a souped up Clarkson. So... nah.

you need to re-think this. beal is a star. really grew as an initiator over the past couple of years in addition to scoring like mad. credible defender who'd be better in a system like ours. i'd give all but lebron/AD and washington would get more from someone who just wanted to gamble on keeping him in FA, imo.

I would trade anyone outside of AD/LeBron for Beal.

with that said, Oladipo is more realistic than Beal at this point for that same package.

Another guy that is more realistic is CJ McCollum

Lastly, a guy like Gary Harris would be really solid for us and we probably wouldn't have to give up Kuzma either to get him imo.

I guess in order, I'd want Beal, then Oladipo, then CJ, then Harris. We should be targeting these guys though no matter what.

harris expires in 2022, and i think denver needs to be thinking about their finances a bit. green for harris might work for both teams, tbh. and no, they don't get kuz or anything of value other than salary relief a year earlier. i might even ask for a pick or prospect in addition.

Garry Harris looks like another KCP to me, inconsistent supposed 3/D guy

What? Bradley Beal is Lilliard Lite. You put him next to Lebron and AD, and Lebron coasts all year. Beal would love it. He could get his numbers and win titles. Perfect situation for all.

Gary Harris is a pretty good defender - he had a down year though so his value is low...low enough to get him for salary relief imo but then again, concerning that he was essentially benched for ...monte morris? Good thing is...he's only 26. Danny Green is 7 years older at 33.

And as I'm typing this...upon looking at the numbers...Gary Harris looks to be declining each of the past 2 years and he's been a little bit injury prone. He's at 19M and then 20M in his final year...I think the Nuggets would have to actually sweeten this deal for us to actually take him on. I'd say if you can extract someone like Bol Bol from the Nuggets along with Gary Harris, it could be worth it...but i would try for the bigger names first before I go hunting for a guy that has declined across the board the past 2 years.

I see Portland as the most likely team to try and make a deal happen because my goodness...you got CJ and Dame on the hook for 51M and 35M in 2023/24...that's 86M between two guards that will be on the wrong side of 30 at that point in their careers. Portland may try and run it back one more year to see how far they go but they didn't exactly light the world on fire until the Bubble...and even then, they didn't show enough to justify the cost of the roster. Melo had a good enough year to warrant at least MLE money so theyll have to spend there...Gary Trent just hired KLUTCH and he's entering a contract year next year...so Portland has to make decisions. They dont' exactly have young talent though to build with...they're in a weird state where their current roster is probably good enough to make the playoffs but not good enough to go much further than the 1st round. Keep in mind next year, West likely gets stronger with GS returning to full form, Denver getting better, Mavs getting better, Clippers, Lakers, Rockets, etc.

I still say go for Beal but likely land on a guy like Oladipo or CJ is more likely....

Oh man, how do we get Mike Brown in that job? Do we pin some phony scandal on Lue? Do we put up billboards? Open to any ideas, my dudes.

How does Mike Brown still get head coaching interviews? That would be a beautiful thing.
