I don't think the Nets or Warriors trade with us. They in no way want to help LeBron/Lakers win chips. Unless they seriously think they are winning the trade, think again.

Sounds like the Philly job is MDA's if he wants it...

Why do people keep hiring this dude? Seriously? Philly is falling over themselves to get this guy.

No clue. He must have pitched them the hell out of his plan with Simmons.

If I was Lue, I'd be upset. He was the favorite for the gig before MDA was in the mix. I don't think Lue is a great coach and am really glad he turned us down and we "settled" for Vogel (has to be kicking himself for that one) . But I think he's better than MDA. Wonder if the Clippers flaming out hurt the stock of Lue and Cassell.

so...horford's being dumped for basically nothing (at his salary, you can't get anything back). something to keep an eye on.

i said lue was going to look foolish, and he does.

If I am Philly, I avoid Lue and MDA. I do not get the big whiff about Lue. I see nothing special about him and he is a terrible decision maker who gets anxiety. Who the hell wants their head coach to have tummy aches? Dumb. The only thing he did well was be stupid about the contract the Lakers gave him and the Lakers got the best coach for them.

    Lue was short sighted.

I have a hard time seeing the Embiid fit in a run n gun free wheeling offense since he doesn’t have great wheels.

Even if MDA wasn't terrible coaching big men or using them properly, he'll get Embiid hurt with that 7 second offense. He doesn't know how to manage his knees or his back. Going to shorten his career if he gets the job and Embiid didn't demand a trade. I know the article said Joel signed off on it and was looking forward to it. He says that now, let's revisit that 1 month into the season.

So, who are some of yalls early targets for us this off season? Job's not done, but our needs and weaknesses are clear and remain the same win or lose.

My top 4 are all via trade:
    1) Joe Harris. Just the spacing and shooting the offense needs. He'll be out of our $ range, so it would require a S&T.
    2) DeMar DeRozan. In terms of being our 3rd guy, he's far and away the best fit of the possible available players. Would also require a S&T, depending on his off season decision. I think it's less likely Pop helps us though, that's why this is #2.
    3) Buddy Hield. Shooting for cheap. He's out of favor with the team and it's the Kings. If you can outsmart a team, it's that s*** show in Cow Town. Not sure what kind of asset return they'd be looking for.
    4) Victor Oladipo. By far the riskiest player given his injury. But he was damn good. Could it be possible to buy low and he get a clean bill of health from our medical staff?

After that, I'm looking for a ball handling PG off the bench to lessen the load for Bron. We have playoff Rondo, but no need to get him going until 15-20 games before the playoffs. I would look at Teague then Augustin. Dragic will cost too much.

Lakers need a guy who can shoot and create his own shot. That's it. Everything else is set. Don't complicate it too much. Don't mess with chemistry too much. Lebron needs to play 29 min a game during the regular season. So, they would need someone that's either a 3rd star or almost there who can create his own shot and shoot.

They are trying to dump Horford? Why? He's a big who can shoot 3's. Sounds like a win for 'Antoni

i think the lakers and kings talk about S&T bogdan for kuz/green or something like that. the kings could use kuz as a selling point for fans. they've got harrison barnes, but i don't think he's their long-term plan, and both he and kuz play 3/4, so that could work. with fox and hield young and locked into deals, i could see bogdan asking them to facilitate a move.

though tbh, the lakers do seem to have their eye on flexibility in 2021 (don't love it, we have two superstars, one of whom is young, let's win now), so keep your eye on anyone with one year left on their deal. derozan's an interesting suggestion. he can opt in and get moved for green/kuz/mcgee (spurs would demand kuz). could also see the clips trying to get in on that, which would be funny. demar's got one year left if he opts in, so that fits nicely. if he walks, you lost kuz for nothing, which isn't ideal, as i think that like some of our other young players, he might put up bigger numbers elsewhere.

if they're not moving embiid, they have to move horford. no way MDA plays two bigs heavy minutes. he's never done it.

The first step of justifying MDA getting rid of Embiid?

he's one who could end up here, i think. will depend on whether our relationship with klutch continues post-lebron.

I haven’t had time to look at who’s available but from your list alone, these would be mu changes.

    1. Oladipo
Adding shooting would be important but I’m prioritizing wing defense and playmaking. He’s someone who can create his own shot that will help relieve Lebron and AD. He’d be the obvious 3rd star. Yes he’s coming back from injury but I think the risk would be worth it, he’d have less of a workload next to our two stars.

    2. Derozan
Fits with our cap plan for Giannis. Not the best 3pt shooter but he can score bunches. Not the athlete/defender he once was but he adds size in length we’d lose if we have to send out Green and Kuz.

    3. Hield
He’s young and a pretty good shooter. Streaky scorer though but he’ll get better looks here.

    4. Harris
The best shooter of the bunch though defensively, I don’t think he’s quick enough to guard guards out there. Honestly see Nets keeping him though, he fits nicely with Kyrie and KD.
