Question. Trevor was giving numbers for max contracts, but are those numbers even close to being accurate anymore? I thought payroll and salary cap were directly related to league revenue which will be down considerably this next season.

As hard as it would be, Oladipo is an all star sg. I am one of the presidents of the Caruso fan club, but he is not Oladipo, and Kuzma's nice little run here in the bubble isn't enough of a sample size to keep me from going for an all star sg. You can count on Oladipo to give you 20 ppg night in and night out.

NBA - Victor Oladipo Sustains Quadriceps Tendon Rupture
    Updated: May 9, 2019

    [IMG][IMG]

Victor Oladipo Sustains Quadriceps Tendon Rupture

Victor Oladipo, Indiana Pacers shooting guard is reported to have a ruptured patella tendon in his right knee. With this report his season is over and he has a long road ahead of him for recovery. Video of the injury can be seen below. There is not a good clip of the actual injury, but it is interesting what you see the athletic trainer do. When he gets to Oladipo he pushes the knee cap back in to place and it appears to go easily. When he lets go, the knee cap falls back out of place because there is no quadriceps tendon holding it in place. So he just cover it with the towel and gets him transported.

    Understanding A Quadriceps Tendon Rupture

The quadriceps muscles are a group of four muscles that are located in the front of the upper leg and are usually referred to as the thigh muscles. The muscles come together to form one large tendon as they travel to the knee, called the quadriceps tendon. The quadriceps tendon connects to the upper part of the knee cap and is the primary extensor of the knee. Injury to the tendon can be problematic for athletes in a variety of sports. Due to significant stresses with sprinting sports as well as with lower body exercises such as squats, the quadriceps tendon is susceptible to several injuries such as tendonitis, tendon strain or tendon rupture. If the injury is acute and sudden, such as during a slide or jumping movement, the tendon can be strained or even completely torn as in this case.

    Evaluation of Quadriceps Tendon

The most obvious sign in a quadriceps rupture will be that the knee cap is dropped out of place and the athlete will not get much movement when the flex try to flex the knee. They may get some slight movement due to other muscles that flex the knee that aren't including in the quadriceps muscle. The athlete likely will not be able to walk. Athletes will usually have notable swelling over the front of the upper knee as well as a palpable defect where the rupture occurred. Keep in mind, the swelling is usually concentrated over the tendon rather than throughout the entire knee such as in an ACL tear or Meniscus tear. Generally, the diagnosis is pretty clear on exam but MRI and Ultrasound are two options for diagnostic imaging.

    MRI Evaluation of Ruptured Quadriceps

    Treatment and Return to Play

In general, a complete quadriceps tendon rupture is likely going to require a surgical repair. The repair usually involves suturing the torn tendon back to the knee cap. Most athletes can return to sports but slightly over half of people have thigh weakness and soreness at the site of the tear. People who require surgery do better if the repair is performed early after the injury. Return to play is varies widely and is usually in the 4-6 months range, however it depends upon the sport.

i take this injury to be more recoverable than a torn acl/mcl type injury or the 2 nasty leg breaks of Hayward/PG n they both recovered eventually

Good question, anyone with more CBA knowledge know how all the revenue losses will impact upcoming free agency and cap projections?

I had assumed there were mechanisms in place such that a sudden drop in revenue would somehow be spread out via drops in cap room over multiple years, but I really don’t know.

I think someone had semi-jokingly brought up the idea of acquiring CJ McCollum. The idea of Victor Oladipo is similar to me.

On paper, I think the fit of a star SG like one of those two added to our AD/Bron duo would fit like a glove and elevate us to another level.

I don’t see it being realistic, but if somehow Rob was able to pull off a trade for Oladipo, I’d put pretty much everyone on the table as long as we’re left with enough flexibility afterwards to replace any loss in depth. And realistically, I think we’re at a place as a team that even if we had limited cap flexibility, our Klutch connections and desirability as a free agent destination would allow us to fill out the roster well.

Man, it's a well known fact, that i HATE that dude but he would fit right in. Maybe the name on the front of the jersey would take the douche out of him.

Sigh. Attached to Kuz and the Eagle now, don't want to watch Trevor's video. Or watch his audio. Where is he saucing this from? Great that our guys in the bubble can read about it with still 3 more tough series to go.

How about we have Cookie keep riding fat boy Waiters to get in the best shape of his life after we win this ring to finally reach his potential and stick around, and Phil Handy keep TNT on crash course to early effectiveness as a 20 year old?

I’ll do my part but we actually have to PLAY Waiters, so he can show other teams what he can do.

I don’t know anything about the CBA but I know the owners wanted a cap smoothing option when the cap jumped so dramatically a few years ago and the players said no. I doubt the owners are going to want a cap smoothing option in reverse, now that the shoe is on the other foot.

I know I said "pipe" maybe should have clarified, "bong" :giggle:

Meant so we could keep HIM and have him finally play the best he ever has because he would no longer be FAT and wants to stay a Laker for an attractive to us price.

It’s definitely risky to give up too much if someone hasn’t proven to be healthy or fully recovered yet.

I don’t see this happening, and I find it a little bit distasteful to already be talking about Laker trades.

but I suppose this happens every year to teams that are out of the playoffs, and we naturally get sucked into every scenario to raise the bida.

i'd be very worried about holiday and oladipo's injury history and/or age.

that said, i wanted to take holiday with AD at last year's deadline. he's exactly the kind of player that completes this team. gotta hope a cheaper/more attainable version shakes loose, though, i think.
