Nets, if healthy, are set. Lakers will need to get some back up now.

Tell me how many teams have won the league being bad defensively.
In regular season they will outscore many teams. Come playoff time, where the game slows, teams know every little detail of your X and Os and problems will begin.

They don't have the defense nor the locker room chemistry to win it all.

it's another test of MDA's oft-disproven theory. he may finally get it, but i'm not sure it's true support, as it's not really dantoni's system as much as it is raw star power--something everyone in the world knew. dantoni's supposed genius was that he could win his way without stacking the deck, talent-wise (or on an even playing field). this is not that.

and yes, the clippers are more likeable than the nets. really, everyone is. they took houston's crown.

right. kyrie's never healthy. durant's still coming off an achilles. harden never gets hurt, but he alone makes for a bad team (despite him suddenly being the mvp favorite, which is freaking hilarious).

lots can happen between now and the playoffs.

yeah, that part is incredibly annoying. we don't need blake griffin, but had he signed here, everyone would be throwing a fit. if drummond comes here, everyone will throw a fit. the nets pick up stars left and right and everybody just sort of yawns.

and it astonishes me that kd hasn't learned anything from his heel turn--he thought if he cheaped a couple of titles in gs, people would forgive him. but they didn't. and getting one in bkn with harden and kyrie won't fix it either. lebron rehabbed his image by winning in cleveland, imo--the heat titles didn't do it for most fans, because they were cheap and lame. durant was such a promising figure as a young player, but got in his own way.

anyway, i'd like a shot at them in the finals. i think the lakers at full strength could beat them but would be a huge underdog, which is fun and rare. i like lebron and AD as underdogs.

At full health, I still like our odds against anyone. Please put DJ and Griffin on AD, he'll average 35. Green on Bron till the 4th when KD picks him up...oook. Kyrie will have to work on both ends against Dennis. He's pesky and he's just as fast. That leaves the choke artist Harden. I'll take my chances with him. Run KCP, Wes, and THT at him. Keep rotating them out, so you'll always have a fresh body on him.

I think the underdog role would be a great motivator to eliminate the championship hang over come post season. Not a role very many defending Champs find themselves in.

    Do it Rob!

Give them Kuz (when new money kicks in), KCP, THT (S&T), and as many future picks as it takes.

I know Dame will probably retire a Blazer, but he's the closest thing we got to Kobe and he deserves better.

So let me guess, that big chunk of change the NETS have available from the (injury exception?) could be split between Griffin and Drummond and each would still get far more than the Lakers have left to offer? Or if it can’t be split we find out Blake agreed to take the smaller whatever NETS have like we have and leave the larger exception for Drummond?

Plus they would have far more minutes to offer Drummond on a nightly basis?

I didn't see the game, but how can you hit a game winner when the final score is 170 - 150? Is halfcourt worth 20 points now?

First to 170 in the case of last night. Each of the first 3Q starts off 0-0, and actual score kicks in in the 4th. And the leading team has to score 24 points to win.

They changed the game format so it's first team to 170 wins.

I liked it last year, made for a very competitive 4th. This year though Bron's team won each of the 3Qs and were torching the net with Dame and Curry firing off 3s from everywhere, including halfcourt. Bron is a better GM. His teams are 4-0 since he's been picking his all star teammates.

If Lakers get Drummond, they are set. They need a little more muscle and a healthy AD.

It would be great to get the best rebounder of this entire generation, but how realistic is it...? Let's hope for the best!

Doesn’t matter what any other team does, I’d still put my money on a healthy Lebron and AD.

But yeah ... Drummond would be a very nice pickup for us, and meanwhile a bit of a blow if he went to the Nets.

From what I’ve heard, the knock on Drummond is that he thinks he’s Olajuwon. Tries to score too much in the post when he doesn’t actually have that great of a scoring touch.

Well, he’s been playing on Detroit and Cleveland... I don’t blame him for trying to force the offense. With us, I’d imagine he’d still get a starting role and plenty of playing time, but he can focus on just playing D, grabbing boards, and feasting off open looks generated by Lebron and AD. Just having someone of his size and athletic ability would be a game changer for our team.

I don’t wanna get my hopes up though...
