I guess that's one way to put it.

    Also, where's the depth now?

I think the Nets gave up too much. Let's see how they fill their roster up but their bench is awful. Plus, Harden and Durant basically only have ONE season after this before they opt out. Nets are going to have to hope Harden and Durant can at least win a title because they've drafted their future away.

Good deal for the Rockets, honestly. Harden was ruining the development of the team and they had to salvage what's left of the season. Wall+Oladipo+Woods isn't enough to make the playoffs but at least they have the assets in the future to build.

Can't complain about Harden getting what he wanted since AD also got to where he wanted but I just hope the league finds a way to deal with these players holding a team hostage. It's bad for the sport.

I'm curious to see if they have to move Dinwiddie for depth. But if they have to move him while hurt, they'll clearly get less of a return. But do they have enough around those 3 to warrant holding a roster spot for someone who won't play this year?

If the Nets are smart, they will find a way to trade Kyrie. Bring in team players that fill the gaps between KD and Harden. They should be able to get a ton back for Kyrie and I doubt the other guys would care much at this point.

Kyrie is a cancer and needs a new environment, whatever happened he is in a very bad place and maybe a change of scenery would do him good. ???? The Nets are in a position to compete for a ring and having a guy like that who is not "all in" is going to ruin the chemistry. If they could pick up a solid 3 and D guy, or maybe someone who can rebound and block shots, they have two of the best offensive guys in the game today. Holes need to be filled. Kyrie, at this point, is probably the odd man out.

Do not need depth in the East. However, Kyrie and Harden playing the backcourt is gonna be like two blue hairs trying to get dibs on who will get the last handicap spot at the nursing home.

Looking at a potential matchup with us, the Nets big 3 will have to play darn near 40 minutes per game in the finals. KD will have to score 25-30 ppg and guard AD at least 25 minutes. Tough task. This trade just put additional stress on KD who’s coming off a major injury.

just makes the legacy of my favorite player Lebron even greater when he beats teams with the 3 potential HOF'ers.

guess i'll side with the minority: houston got an obviously permanently damaged oladipo and a bunch of picks from teams that plan to and should be in the playoffs for a while.

    yikes.

if simmons/thybulle was on the table and they didn't take it, that's pretty terrible.

the fact that levert and allen were in the deal and went elsewhere is also a bit concerning to me if i were a houston fan.

do not like it for them.

indy: win. levert may be better than oladipo, and worst case, he's just equally injury-prone and less of a pain in the a**. they gave up basically nothing else.

cle: also gave up very little and gets two rotation players. dante exum and one of the last picks in the first round is very little.

bkn and houston must have been very motivated to get this done.

Yeah, I agree with you abeer3. I definitely thought Houston should have taken the 76ers deal with Simmons. Would have given them a bona fide young star to build around. Now they have three guys who have come off SERIOUS injuries as their new core of Dipo, Wall and Boogie. I don't see the appeal of that. Those picks are going to be in the 25-30 range most likely since the Nets will be a contender most likely for a bit now. Simmons was a number one. They aren't getting talent like that from this deal. I guess they just hate Morey and would do whatever they can not to give him Harden. But it's a bit of cutting off your nose to spite your face IMO.

not sure why Houston wanted Dipo so badly...Levert is younger and has more potential at this point...but whatever

Glad Harden went to the nets - can't wait to beat their a**** in the Finals.
