Happy for Cousins - get that money. We didn't have a spot for him or minutes...that's OK.

I just hope him and Wall can get healthy - it would be nice to see Houston competitive again with some players that I actually like.

Didn’t help reading how pervasive his control on normal team functions is and always has been in Houston behind the scenes .... did it? Another he is who we thought he is moment.

James Harden is an a**hat. I can't for the life of me understand why so many in the media were sucking up to him so much. He offers NOTHING where it matters. He isn't marketable. He looks like a homeless bum. His attitude blows. His game is boring. He isn't a household name. He plays in Houston, no one gives a s*** about the Rockets. His entire game is predicated on exactly why so many fans do not watch the NBA anymore. I don't understand how the hell this schlep rock won the MVP. He has NEVER been valuable to anything other than being catered to by idiot GM's.

But he shoots a lot of free throws! And he iso scores a lot while dribbling the ball into the ground. So watchable!

Him going to Philly would be perfect. Two dildos like him and Embiid on the same team can only spell complete disaster.

And they gave up promising young star Simmons for him? That all the years of trust the plan produced along with Embiid.

Simmons likely becomes a better overall basketball player than Harden within the next two years. His defense is already elite and he's a better team player. Morey would be an idiot to trade Simmons or Embiid for Harden.

i'd move embiid before simmons, tbh. as you said, embiid's more of a me-first guy. he's talented but doesn't really care about winning first.

Am seriously waiting for Philly fan to sink his teeth into Harden’s meaty body after they get a load of his game and what he cost them going forward especially if Simmons is traded for him.

If he isn't traded, he might average 50 FGAs this season. Would be super-amazing to watch.

I think Simmons is a very good player but the guy can't shoot. In todays NBA you can get away with it in the regular season and first couple of rounds of playoffs in the (L)eastern Conference. When teams game plan for you in a 7 game set you can be rendered ineffective.

Simmons is an incredible passer and versatile defender though on top of being a beast in open court.

But Philly in 2021 may have just enough pieces to just get around Simmons shooting woes if he struggles

Morey's Sixers might be the team to beat to get that 2nd ring for us

If Wall and Boogie regain form, he should consider staying in Houston. Seems doubtful he’ll find a better situation.

If I'm Houston, I refuse to trade him this season. Force him to come and play. Harden WILL come to camp. He isn't going to forgo 41 million dollars. You will still get a lot for him next offseason. There is no trade out there that will make the Rockets as good as they will be with Harden. I hate his game, but it is effective and it can get the Rockets to the second round of the playoffs which is a lot of extra money. If they trade for Tyler Herro and picks or something like that, they aren't making the playoffs. Do what the Lakers did with Kobe. Make him play out the season. If Wall and Cousins can return to even 85% of what they once were, it is a better team than he will find on the open market because it seems to be clear that the Nets package doesn't entice them.

the posturing through the press is fun, particularly when the two guys negotiating are friends. i'm sure simmons is on the table, and i'm sure three picks aren't. i'm sure morey wants harden for tobias harris and 3 picks, and houston wants simmons and 3 picks for harden. they'll get simmons and maybe a pick and both sides get to look like master negotiators.

it would be interesting to see it expanded into a mega deal: simmons/harris for harden/tucker/gordon. it works, cap-wise. it cleanses houston from the harden era while delivering playoff-ready vets whom harden likes to philly. houston gets a legit young star and a capable secondary scorer to pair with wall. there are worse things.

yeah, i'd hold him hostage, too, tbh. i didn't subjugate my entire basketball operations to your whims only to have you walk out prior to your contract being up. no sir. see you on tuesday or the checks stop.
