all we need is a first down and what we do? just try to run the clock out.... ugggggggghhhh i hate that
As usual, another wire to wire win. It really doesn't need to be this exciting [sigh...]. Chargers bungle a game tying field goal. I just laugh thinking how we escaped and that San Diego finds ways to lose. At least my football weekend did not totally suck. The U and UCLA lost... Just checking the Denver-Atlanta highlights...their linebackers can't cover pass catching backs. Maybe food for thought for Musgrave? It takes the some sting out of that Week 2 loss to them. We have to play 60 minutes of solid football... This living on the edge crap is not good against a disciplined, steady Kansas City team.
Quick Hits: Raiders' D wasn't awesome by any stretch, but they continue to be improved. Rushing Yards per game are down to 122. Passing Yards per game are at 331. Total Yards per game are at 453. That's a season low. They're getting 2.0 Takeaways per game, at a season high. Still allowing WAY too many points and yards though. QB Hurries: Mack 5 Autry 4 Irvin 2 McGee 2 Ward 2 Smith 2 I have this QB Impact rating that I've used to demonstrate how awesome Carr has been in the post-Gannon years. Here are the numbers: Carr 2015 +20.0 Carr 2016 +17.9 Campbell 2010 +9.0 Campbell 2011 +6.8 Gannon 2004 +4.6 Palmer 2012 +4.0 Those are all the years a starting QB has had a rating of 4 or higher, since 2004. Carr's 2016 season could obliterate his mark from last season, and that was far and away the best of the bunch. Cumulative Ratings: Carr 30.8 Campbell 13.3 Gannon 4.6 Flynn 3.9 Palmer 0.0
Last night, I saw a comparison between the Carr brothers in a three year period. Their won-loss records are identical. Derek has more than doubled David's touchdowns while throwing two thirds less interceptions. A major difference was that David was sacked more than twice as much. Younger brother's response to the last factor? "That poor guy..." LOL.
If San Diego wants to save their coach's job and get it together to win...they have to start this Thursday. Know what I mean [grin]?
as long as the Chokers dont go into the 4th with a lead, i think they might have a chance i think Simien is back for the Donkeys
Rivers is a gamer so San Diego won't be an easy out. They might even pull it off. I'm sure they are sick of blowing games that they should have won. Chargers actually have been more than competitive in all of them.
As much as our defense have been uneven so far, I like it that we have solid tacklers in James and Joseph. New signee Riley is really underrated. The one negative about having the Rams back in the Southland is that they are displacing Raider games on Channel 2 even if there is a slated double header that weekend for the network. Ugh... This Sunday's game will be big... Kansas City plays more of a methodical, grind it out style so it could be a break for Norton's crew in a sense.
The team will and should be focused. It would be a statement win. If it is not in their heads at this point, then I don't know what else can be said. I'd wager that Del Rio will be drilling it to their mindset this week. I love Captain Jack! Some witty poster on a Raider fan-site dubbed Carr as the "Christian Stabler"... Yep, I am aware of Reid's after bye week record. Impressive...
The Chargers have been there for so long that it would be weird imagining them elsewhere. They should give their fan-base something to be happy about starting on Thursday. Can keep saying that enough...
