Not even a Raiders fan, but Carr has star written all over him. He'll be the best QB in the AFC West relatively soon.
So... Next week, Raiders travel to Cleveland, then Chicago. Both are winnable games even with Manziel and the Bears without Jay Quitler.
So.... Where did that come from? If they continue to grow they might just be at 500 or even above this year. Wow that felt good...
Man they had me wanting to scream today. Gave up two 10-point leads (one in the 4th). The dumb penalties crept in late in the game too. My biggest concern is we can't protect the seam routes to save our lives. That young defense needs to gel quickly. Pressure on the QB was also non-existent today. All that being said, great bounce back win and much better all around game by our boys. Carr looked poised throughout and I am beginning to love Carr-Crabtree connection. I finally screamed "Touchdown" on a meaningful play (game winner) and it felt sooooo damn good. Riding Raiders high this week.
Short takes from yesterday: - that Cooper score validates why he was chosen as opposed to Leonard Williams. Here's to more as he and Carr develop that chemistry. - Carr channeling his inner Favre [whom he idolizes] Sunday on that game winning drive. - props to the defense holding the Ravens to a field goal to set up that drive. - Norton too conservative on D or is he too protective of our shaky secondary? - second week in a row where some unheralded tight end makes a name for himself at the expense of our safeties and linebackers. - kudos to Seth Roberts... From practice squad to catching the winning TD. Brice Butler now has Brandon Weeden. - Suh already causing dysfunction in Miami. As talented as he is, Suh is a disruptive force within his own team. In hindsight, could he have been a major headache for the current regime? - R.I.P. Al LoCasale... My indelible image of the man from "The Sea Of Hands" game: On to the Dog Pound! Go Raiders!
...can't be said in Seattle, Baltimore, Dee-troit, Chi-Town, Nawlins, Houston, the City of Brotherly Love and the New York Football Giants. Yeah it's only Week 2 but I'm taking what I can get at this point.
these September wins are rare...its usually a race between the Raiders and Lakers to see who gets that first win...i'm stoked next week is winnable, so is the game after that vs the Bears...and lord dont let them beat the Donkeys before the bye...its good to see Raider Nation loud again for now
Woodson played with a dislocated shoulder on Sunday. That is admirable and crazy at the same time. We are talking Lott and Mamba territory here. Small note: Oakland must be taking on some sense of relevancy when the Raiderettes are being included in the weekly SI NFL Cheerleaders weekly photo sets. Yes, I do notice these things.
^Funny but true... Trent Richardson...the punchline that won't go away. I think his career is over. I would like to see our D flatten Manziel. Reports that he is no longer as self absorbed as before...setting examples as a good teammate all that jazz. Don't know... Something about that guy bugs me.
