We need to get to work on this ASAP...prime trade partners for this would be ATL, PHI and SAC.

I'm looking especially at PHI because they only have like 5 players under contract for next year so they'll need bodies and I would think that Wagner holds better value than some of their 2nd round picks...and Bonga probably holds better value than their 54th pick...if we can extract the 42nd and 54th picks from PHI (while they keep their 33rd and 34th picks) for Wagner, Bonga and Jones (who has a non-guaranteed salary and can be waived)...that's great value for them and they'll essentially get 4 role players all on cheap contracts while they try and fill out the rest of the team.

So ATL essentially sold 45ish pick for 1.9m. That future second rounder has previous protections to the Cavs (in the Wade trade), so essentially they included a six pick range (50-55), where it conveys to ATL.

We have 3.7m remaining in cash for tonight with a re-up of 5.5m coming on June 30th. We can essentially execute a trade tonight to get 2 2nd rounders in the 40-60 range or get 1 in the 31-39 range.

We can also agree in principle tonight to buying a pick with our new 5.5m rollout and have the trade become official on July 6th.

Can we trade cash we dont technically have yet?

I would also think teams are going to hold Rob over a barrel with this 2nd round business. I could see them trying to extract a lot more than the Heat just gave up.

I dont think there's a limit on signing undrafted players though and the Sixers have a whole lot of 2nd rounders.

Every year, we're alotted this amount to send out for 2nd rounders and won't count against our cap until we sign the players.

Mia only has 1.5m in cash to spend for this calendar season, so they're short about 400k. So you can use cash you don't have yet... It's a trade agreed upon in principle. Think Bonga trade last summer where we spent 1.5m and executed the trade on July 6th. Which is why we have 3.7m remaining right now.

You right tho with Philly. They got 3 picks in the early 2nd round with 33,34,42 along with the 54th pick as well, while ATL now has 35,41. Sac also has three in 40,47,60.

I really wanted Bazley, but Rich doing work out here...kid is projected as high as 15th overall now.

Lakers dropping the ball on those ATL picks.

I'm hoping their 35 is being discussed with us as we speak.

Maybe Atlanta clearing their other second round picks because they’re about to get essentially 3 free second round prospects (Wagner, Bonga, Jones)?

HJ: ATL has 32m in cap space bro. It would have been much easier to send Moe/Bonga/JJ's aggregated 5m into that space along with 5m in cash (if they're interested in buying those fellas out) and in return we get 41 and 44 with 8&10 going to the Pels for 4.

One thing y'all have to understand is that we really don't need a 3rd team. You can aggregate Moe/Bonga/JJ into the original package and bring AD in along with giving him 2m of his 4m trade kicker.

Unless Griff has Rob over a barrel, we're facilitating Griff shopping the 4th for a reason...I hope it's a good reason. We'll see soon enough.

What I’m suggesting is that Atlanta doesn’t want to help us and give us those second rounders, knowing how desperate we may be to dump that salary. They’d rather sell them to get cash from others since they don’t have a need for so many extra unproven prospects, AND still get our cash (or future second rounders) as incentive to take on Wagner/Bonga/Jones while trading 8 and 10 for 4.

We have 3.7 to spend on 2nd rounders. We could buy them straight up for cash as well.

So you're suggesting we've been leveraged once again.

Moe is a 25th pick. Bonga is a 39th pick. JJ is a nonguaranteed deal that becomes fully guaranteed 1/10/2020...add 5m in cash to that deal for 41 and 44. That's more than a fair deal for a "salary dump".

But ATL doesn't do that so that they can extract 3.5m more and future 2nd rounders that likely don't convey from GS and Miami.

I'm sorry, but that doesn't appear to be the likely scenario.

But we will see soon enough I guess.
