Makes sense since all the established PGs they interested in are RFAs (DLo, Rozier) or currently under contract (Zo, Conley) and Ja will already be off the board.

If they intended to release this info out, it's also possible to show they have a deal in place to go get a starting PG and Garland is a smokescreen for their actual pick at 6. So they hoping either LA or the Cavs go with Garland (if he's still on the board) instead of their true target.

Alright, I've seen enough. If we end up keeping the pick, I'm in for Garland. His injury bumped his stock down, but those skills have me convinced, he's damn good.

Oh wow let me change my evaluation of Garland. Night and day the scouting report highlights, even with the narrator loving him up did not show what these elevated camera angles show with quickness, footwork and how much territory each of those moves covers. He looks really nice here. And the shot looks pretty great here too certainly with all the makes. @KareemtheGreat33 said, "wet" and yep it looks nice. Athletic, quick, coordinated.

Why would we assume Zo would have hurt feeling? The way I see it Zo can play next to anyone with his style, if he could play with D-Lo he could play with Garland.

A rook likely isn't starting for us. If so, plans probably failed.

They said Russ was a PG too, yet he flourishes shooting next to other guards as well. From the video it looks like Zo would be able to get Garland open looks or find him cutting for those smooth layups he makes, they could easily play together. Zo is a pg, but people always seem to leave out that the time he has the ball in his hands is always incredibly low. Also, if Zo can play next to iso players that pound the ball like Ingram and chuckers like Kuz, yeah, he can play with anyone. I get that you’re not a big fan of his, but I really see improvement in his future and I hope he sticks around, I don’t want him traded just to be traded, it would have to be as part of a package for an all-star

I mean, we see Zo play off ball anyway with Ingram or Lebron on the floor. There's less pressure for him to create and focus on moving off ball, cutting, and everything else. He just needs to work on that catch and shoot jumper and he'll be fine. Zo's strengths are his ability to push the pace, vision, and defense. He showed a little improvement in his aggressiveness, but got hurt.

Garland almost reminds me of Kyrie-lite in a way with his ability to create, give him the edge on shooting and Kyrie the edge at creating a shot and finishing at the rim.

I wish it wouldn't take him a couple years to get buff enough on the floor. Then every once and awhile think about how fearless and slight of frame Allen Iverson was. Dude was amazing in his prime. Him and Kobe going at it .... classic.

Speaking of that .... I need to know if that is what is being implied here earlier today after "current events" .....

Or am I taking it in a negative sense when there is really something uplifting going on there?

Modern NBA = guards and bigs. No real pg vs sg distinction in most cases.
