He's pretty young still. I think 31 or 32, but what kind of shape is he in? He IS the more natural distributor of the two, but to cut Avery some slack, he's still making his way back from injury. It would be wisest if we could keep both.

Who is to say Collison doesn't try to make a comeback and tear a hammy from not being in NBA shape? The depth makes more sense to me, but I'd really like the Clips not to add more quality to their roster. Signing him would kind of be a 2 for 1.

I thought we were 14 guys, not 15, but looks like 15 if not mistaken

Cant cut Boogie if we are using his exception, which may give us a small edge here

LAC and others can only offer the minimum pro rated for like 2 months of the season, so like under 1M. We can offer 1.75, so an extra 1M to play with us, not bad

Also we want to keep Boogie here to keep AD happy, Lebron also likes him.

And we could convince him to come back next yr

We should look into a 2 for 1 deal.

Avery, Cook, and maybe a 2nd for Ariza

They save cash, we get an extra roster spot and a bench wing defender

Collison will brick shots left and right the moment he becomes a Laker. How long will it take him to get back to b-ball shape anyways?

Why would the Clippers be interested in him? They have frontline depth and size problems not perimeter issues...

Yeah, true. But when the game slows down the Clips weak frontline is going to be exposed. No one is even talking about it... I don’t think the Clips have the luxury of not addressing that issue. Imagine if Magic hadn’t gifted them Zubac.

Hasn't seemed to be an issue for them yet

You do know that Zubac is actually a very good rim protector right?

His problem is more in space and with teams who space the floor well.

So like GS last few years, Hou, Mil

Because he would instantly be the best playmaker on that team. Their "PG" is an annoying defender type PG like Bradley, not a playmaking PG.

Lou is sort of a pg on that team at times. Their best lineup probably has Lou at the one with PG and Kawhi at the two and three. I don't see how Collison gets playing time in important minutes with Lou and Beverly taking up the "small guard" position. Here, there is a good chance he is the starting pg by the time the playoffs come around. And if not the starter, he's at least logging important minutes during key stretches of the game.

yeah, if he wants a chance to be a real impact player on a potential title team, i think we have the edge. if he just wants a ring, they have the edge.

sucks that doc already has an in with him, though.

I'm a basketball junkie and have been watching their games this season. Good frontlines destroy them. Kawhi and PG would have to play great basketball to keep them in the game. Zubac is also terrible in space so mobile bigs go right around him and he fouls at a pretty high rate.

I'm lazy with my sports fandom outside L.A. but always interested. Glad you share things. Unlike @KareemtheGreat33 :giggle:
