With the struggles in NO, Holiday and JJ could be moved by the deadline.

Don't see a path to either unfortunately. I'd do KCP and Daniels for JJ but i don't see KCP approving it. They'll be looking for youth and picks in return for either.

As someone else brought up awhile back, with the league front office fining teams for not playing healthy players, how does Memphis with Iggy get away with this? Are they actually suiting him up every night just to sit and gather rust? Don’t know if suiting him up nor if that’s how?

I don't see the wisdom of trading Danny Green at all, unless you could somehow hoodwink a team into doing something outrageously lopsided, and that ain't happening. I've been around long enough and seen enough title teams to know that championships are won by teams that have Danny Greens on them.

Do Magic and Kareem win with Danny Green or Kuzma instead of Worthy?

Do LBJ and Wade win with Danny Green or Kuzma instead of Bosh?

Of two superstar teams I think only Shaq and Kobe had that level of third option.

It's true that LBJ and AD are playing close to that level... but it still would be nice to have backup considering LBJ's age.

Yes it would. If only our FO hadn't screwed up the roster for AD's first Lakers team. As evidenced by same ole same ole record and contention for a ring as just one short year ago.

Which Worthy or Bosh level player can be had for the players on our roster currently? Remember Worthy is in the hall of Bosh has an outside shot at it.

Kobe and Shaq also did it in a much much weaker era.

No team had as much talent as Clips, MIL, or PHI.

Actually laughable how poor the east was

Lakers in 2000 also had Glen Rice averaging 16 ppg

I'm not saying there is. Dwight has made up for a lot of shortfall by being a solid defensive player that probably should be worth considerably more.
Rondo if healthy also is worth more than his minimum. So signings like that have helped us a lot.

That's why I made the notorious suggestion of Kuzma for IT, which now looks absurd as he hasn't played in awhile... but it was thinking outside the box.

Signing Rose instead of KCP might have been another solution but now we are stuck.

Iguodala will help but we still need a scorer.

This team will definitely compete but it will be rough without the creator.

We're not getting a James Worthy-level player for Kuzma or Green, or even Kuzma plus Green.

    2000 Portland team
Sheed, Pippen, Steve Smith, Sabonis, Stadomire
    2002 Queens team
    Webber, Peja, Bibby, Vlade
both teams may have been more talented than us on paper.

We don't necessarily need a Worthy or Bosh scorer because Magic didn't score like AD or Bron. And those heat teams had less scoring the 1st 2 years besides their main 3, we aren't that reliant since other role guys can score a bit more (avery, Kcp, Dwight and Rondo at time).

    We need a consistent 14-16.

I posted a trade for Gallo above.

If we don't want to move Green since he is vital, I would really look at Bogdan.

Kuzma, salary filler and some 2nds is what I would move

I was talking about the east.

But even those teams were not as good, don't kid yourself. The Lakers had two best player in each series

None of those guys are true superstars even

LAC has a true superstar in Kawhi

MIL has a true superstar in Giannis

    Probably so

We aren't winning it all with Kuzma averaging 11 ppg

    3 scenarios:
    1) Kuzma gets his act together and we find out better ways to help him score (can't help him from continuously blowing good layups). Averages 14-16 ppg for rest of the season and is more consistent
    2) We move him for someone who will do his role better
    3) We stay put, Kuzma continues to suck a**, and it bites us in the a** come playoff time when we can't go toe to toe since this isn't a 2 person sport

I think Kuzma's issues are psychological.

Who knows, maybe he backstabbed all of his boys to be the last young player standing... and the guilt is manifesting itself in self sabotaging play.

I'm not saying that happened... but something weird is going on his head.

It makes no sense why he's playing this poorly with two superstars.

Before he was overperforming among a large group of kids... now he's the "chosen one" (or leftover one?) who has laser focus on himself to perform.

    Could that be the problem?

Or perhaps losing all the kids has taken the joy out of the game for him and he feels out of place with older vets.

I never thought he was a great player, but I did think of him as a potentially more efficient Clarkson.

Now that he's a less efficient Clarkson (Clarkson's PER is 19... Kuzma's is only 10 so far this season) I can't blame people for wanting him traded.

Can he turn it around? Sure... but he's looked miserable for quite awhile now.
