Go half speed during the regular season and turn them jets on in the real season. Granted, I’m not watching them play and that’s my guess as to why he looks slow...but dudes done it before, like last year. So I’m not going to say we dodged anything till he looks completely petrified in the playoffs.

My motto: You dodge meteors or call up Bruce Bruce to hit it...but when it comes to stars, you’d wish your own Arm&Leg ta geddum (get it? Armageddon) :wasntme:

    Stars is where it’s at.

    Firesale looming?

Payton, Ellington, Taj and Morris would be interesting gets for us, particularly if they consent on buyouts.

Also IF Dolan finally sells, it probably adds a little more tension in the AD sweepstakes this coming summer.

Morris would be perfect, unfortunately tough to send out 10M in salary w/o moving KCP.

We can send tons of guys out: Boogie, Cook, Daniels, and Dudley. But need multiple teams. And what value do we really send them? 2 2nds? Likely outbid.

Wouldn't do Kuzma for Just morris.

On a side note. Bertans is killing it. Wish we had him.

Idk if he can be a #3 scoring option though. I would trust JJ more to be that. But man he would be nice here

I don’t think we can really answer that till the playoffs. But I’m having the same thoughts.

Joe Ingles would be a very good trade for us if we can make it work. He's having a poor season thus far but it seems like Bojan has basically taken his role and he's been sidelined when he's out there. Good shooter, solid playmaker, and high IQ player.

Why would a top adversary in the West trade with the Lakers to make us even better?

Lakers have been dodging bullets in free agency for quite some time now. Derozen, LMA, Melo, Kawhi, etc. If the Lakers are healthy, even with this current roster, going into the playoffs, I would be in shock if they don't win it all. AD right now is different than AD from Game 1. And so are everyone else. The offense is flowing now. Laker fans were a little impatient with everything and it still didnt matter, Lakers were still winning. I do not think we have let the last two games sink in yet. Lakers won ON THE ROAD in Denver and Utah on back to back nights. Not only did they win, they spanked each team even though Denver was close most of the game, it never looked like they were going to lose that game the way AD was destroying everyone on defense. I seriously do not know when was the last time I saw that and I have seen almost every game the last 20 years.

Lakers on Christmas night can send a message. If they whip the Clippers on the 2nd biggest stage in the NBA season, they will then show who they are and let everyone know where they are going. Health is the only thing that will keep them from winning. For sure. If they somehow add one more guy though, man, it's a wrap.

Good points. I would just say don’t forget that of the top teams in the leagues, only the Lakers have a new roster, new star and new coaching staff. So it takes time for everyone to gel, including Lakers fans with the new team, and we still need more time even with the success so far.

Before all the armchair GMs get too caught up in shipping players out from the roster that was put together.

    Another firesale potentially looming...

Guys not happy there could be more receptive in entertaining buyouts.

Tristan is Bron’s boy, a Klutch guy, has his baby moms living in LA and is an expiring deal. No better match to add depth to our forward/frontline than him. Could help AD out a lot too in getting more minutes on the bench.

JC, Delly, Knight and Henson are all expiring deals that could be open to a buyout and all would potentially do more for us than Dudz/Trey.

i'd like clarkson back. we have a role for him. i think knight looks pretty cooked--not sure troy or cook isn't better right now. delly has also fallen off a cliff (not that he was ever that great), so i wouldn't take him unless say, caruso got hurt or something.

i'd be glad to have thompson, though you'd have to be ready for mcgee's implosion.

I haven’t followed him since the trade. Is his defense that good now?

I don’t see it bro. Unlike the other names, dude just started his 4yr extension and his deal deescalates over time, making him a great team friendly asset that the Cavs would be foolish to trade away for next to nothing in return.

And that is exactly what we have to offer, unless Green, Kuz, Caruso and/or our non-trade claused players consent to a deal.

Our most practical get is via buyout this year. So look for vets on expiring deals in a hopeless team environment.

Exactly! Look to the east for more realistic solutions. Our western conference counterparts will just ask for assets we clearly do not have.

    Fuddz in an armchair doe.

Nance’s D in Cleveland has been s***ty, but you know what they say about greener pastures...it’s the s***! Nance’s defense would truly be realized playing with a guy like AD. In that scenario his D would be fertilized...it would be the s***!

Note to self: step away from the prune juice.

yep. that's the primary hope. we can't know what that's going to look like until much later, though. right now, it's not too promising as the bad teams are pretty youth-heavy, and many of their expirings are players they might want to keep rights to. but lots can change.

Because it could also make them better? It doesn't have to be a zero-sum trade. Ingles has struggled with the Jazz this season so if Jazz sees enough upside in Kuzma and KCP, it would be worth considering.

Id add some other buyout candidates that could help us...

Atlanta - Allen Crabbe (18.5 mil expiring)
Hornets - Marvin Williams (15 mil expiring)
Cavs - Jordan Clarkson (13.4 mil expiring)
Knicks - Marcus Morris (15 mil expiring)
OKC - Danilo Gallinari (22.6 mil expiring - unlikely)

    Iggy
    Morris
    Crowder
    Crabbe
    Williams
    Clarkson

That would be my buyout preference if all were available, Gallo will get traded for more picks before letting go freely.
