    Why y’all laughing at this?

Masai has played a big role for him

    Lowry FVV Siakam Giannis Ibaka/C
Powell, OG and more cap space depending who they sign and trade for

    Legit contender

Ibaka, FVV are expiring this yr, if they want those 2 back it might take their cap away and then OG will need to get extended to by 21', same with Lowry

Next big FA Toronto signs will be the first, but who knows? Giannis will go wherever he wants...or blow out a knee. It’s two years off.

I was laughing because of what @abeer3 mentioned. What star free agent has ever signed with Toronto? I have nothing against that franchise, its fans, management, and even less the city of Toronto which is supposed to be great. Hey, Canadians are supposed to be the nicest people in the world! Still find it funny when we hear such news - every freaking team in the NBA will be after Giannis, if he's not seriously injured by that time, and possibly half the NBA even if he is. If he chooses the Raprots, I'm the pope.

Giannis is not going to Toronto - I know everybody wants to make a big deal out of Masai and his relationship or whatever - but Toronto didn't sign either of his brothers when it was no skin off their back to do so - Milwaukee and LA did. That's why I believe it's going to be between us and MIL to sign Giannis. Family is super important to him so whoever tries to help his family, that means a lot to him.

Ok .......?...... I can read his mind so I actually KNOW exactly what he is going to do. He has transmitted his inner most decision to me through the spiritual ether.

FWIW, I highly doubt he comes to the Lakers. He plays the same position as AD and I don't see them meshing all that well together. He only shoots around 27% from 3 and for all the talk about how he is going to improve on that stat, so far he is only 14% for the year. He is a great inside the paint player and a good distributor. If I had to choose between Giannis and AD, I would choose AD. Truth is Kawhi would have been our perfect fit player, he could have fit in until LBJ retired and then taken over for a couple of years. Although, even that is beginning to look like it would not have happened. My guess, at this point, is that LBJ will outlast Kawhi. LBJ has the body and game to last into his early 40's if he so chooses. He could easily be a glue guy who sets others up. Kawhi is already under load management and that will likely get worse. Don't see him going another 12 years. Giannis is staying in Milwaukee because they are the ones who gave him his opportunity. He will appreciate what the Lakers did for his brother and that is all. We need to find a wing he can shoot 3's light out and still be a force on defense. What every single team in the league needs.

Not a fit with AD? Giannis would be playing the same position as LeBron - facilitator - you surround him and AD with shooters and that's a championship contender for the next 10 years.

LBJ outlasting Kawhi? That's not happening. Kawhi is 27 - LeBron is nearly 8 years older. Kawhi will be a top player in this league at least for the next 5 years and maybe more. He's not going away anytime soon and load managing will help him maintain his top form.

Giannis is not going to stay in Milwaukee if they're not at least in the finals one of the next 2 years - players like to say the right things when they're on said team until things don't go their way and they don't live up to expectations.

Don't want Giannis playing a PG like Lebron can. Dude cannot hit well from distance. Has to be under the rim on offense. Lebron can play outside and then drive when needed, but he is not a total liability for 3 point shooting.

Lebron is in good physical shape, I suspect he is going to be a long lasting player, if he chooses to be. Kawhi seems injury prone and he appears to have some ongoing issues that could limit his longevity. It's a bit of a reach, but not huge. It is more likely that Kawhi will see his days numbered.

Giannis is NOT like most players. Milwaukee is competing and they do have a very good team. Whether that team gets to the final or not, is a crap shoot but they have better odds than anyone else in the east. What more can Giannis or anyone in Milwaukee ask for? Frankly, he may be better off trying to attract that extra piece there, instead of going elsewhere to rebuild. NO matter where he goes, getting to the finals is NO guarantee. He is going to have to earn it himself and he does NOT value riding on others coat tails. I will be amazed if he comes to LA, to either team.

Good time to remind folks, we don’t have control of trading our 1st rounders till 2025 at the earliest.

Stepien rule: you can’t trade your OWN pick in consecutive years.

2020: can’t trade it in advance cause we don’t know if Nawlins will get our 2021 pick or choose to defer it to 2022

2021: can’t trade it cause top 8 it goes to Pels an outside of it, it defers to a 2022 unprotected pick to the Pels. So even if it falls outside 8, we can’t trade it in advance

2022: if Pels get top 8 in 2021, we still can’t trade this pick in advance cause pens can choose to swap with our 2023 pick, which means it would be a trade of our pick even though we get the Pels 2023 pick back

2023: if Pels don’t swap our pick and we keep it, we still can’t trade it cause Pels have the choice to get our 2024 pick

2024: can’t trade it if Pels defer this pick in favor of our 2025 pick

2025: we can finally trade this pick ....thing is, we wont know if can trade it, till the Pels decide to go with our 2024 pick

So any trade this season has the no-trade obstacle as well as any immediate 1st round draft capital obstacle.

But at least we have the control to trade dude once we make the pick...so there’s that.

When did I say anything about picks, why do you think I don't know some basic rules?

KCP and Cook/Boogie/Mcgee for Dedmon somehow would be cool.

Maybe KCP wants to be on a team where he can be showcased more? Maybe Klutch needs to threaten to drop him if he doesn't agree?

You were talking about trades and I wanted to use it as a jump off to remind folks our limitations in picks this year.

I wasn’t implying you didn’t know trade rules.

We need him. I'm sure he he sees a need here; he's a smart guy. Let's hope we land him.

By chance, if he's traded and doesn't land here, we need to land another another big wing. It's beyond obvious and a glaring need at this point.
