only way thats gonna happen is he gets traded to a team and gets bought out, but highly doubt it with how much he makes.

NBA has loop holes we dont know about. Like trading 15 1st round draft picks in staggered years for the next century for Russell Westbrook and Paul George.

    Actually yes. Haha

Only way it happens is if Cp3 agrees to a buyout or we go nuclear with the roster. You need 30.7m minimum in outgoing salary. So for example, if you can't include Green in the deal, you literally have to trade every member of our roster except for Boog (1.75dpe goes away if we do) and of course Kuz and we can still hold onto Dwight's nonguaranteed deal. That's if all our bird players (Kcp, Rondo, Mcgee) agree to getting relocated to Okc.

If Green is part of the deal, a package of Green/Kcp/Cook/Dudz/Daniels/THT works and gets up right at that 30.7m mark.

You know me...I like star power. That remaining contract is horrendous, but we cap-strapped anyway heading forward. If Cp3 agreed to decline his final year player option, then he is essentially a 2yr deal and comes off when Bron has the ability to opt out. I don’t think it’s happening, but Giannis would still be in play and if not, Bron/Cp3 can re-up at a lower cLip. Over38 rule still allows Cp3 to recoup his 44m by signing something like 3yrs 60m and is incentive laden.

If Cp3 agrees to opt out to make it a 2yr deal, I don’t think we need picks coming back our way. We got a helluva 2way playmaker, who is a dog and is dogs with Bron and you know he’s hungry for a chip.

I like what Green gives us, but I’m riding with a star (no matter how obnoxious fans find him) all day.

only way CP3 gives up 40M in his final yr is if he gets that 40 back in a 2 or 3 yrs deal but why do that, just for a "chance" at a ring? never seen cp3 as that type of player, he screwed over Hou so he could get his bird rights and get that extra bag, imagine if Hou didn't have to trade Harrell/Lou, they had the cap to sign CP3 outright.

Have you seen CP3’s stats so far this year? Not exactly screaming star level production.

Yeah I agree with you in that it’s not likely to happen. Another big money playmaking target is Lowry who is also on a 2yr deal via his recent extension. So although these options arent gangbusters, they are playmakers that can have Bron play more in his comfort zone while patrolling the perimeter on defense.

I’m primarily looking at use and as a PnR handler, he’s efficient

    https://stats.nba.com/players/ball-handler/#!?SeasonType=Regular Season&sort=PPP&dir=1

And as defender (minimum 25 mpg), he’s among the league leaders.

    https://stats.nba.com/players/defen...E*25&Season=2019-20&SeasonType=Regular Season

And like I said before...he hasn’t won anything yet, so I feel that will just bring more of the dog out of him.

Injuries are always going to be a concern with him and if Rondo stays, the dustups in practice will be epic, but in terms of team needs and Bron insurance, I feel Cp3 would be a good get for us.

Hou dumped him despite a good fit because he can’t stay on the floor and costs 40 mil. I need picks and major injuries to even consider.
