Well neither Thomas or Zubac ended up fitting our timeline and I don't think Williams is that good, but yeah I agree it's tough seeing our system let go of solid guys. The crazy thing is though, they're so good at their jobs they just seem to find talent by the droves and we just don't have room for them all. Johnathan Williams was solid, but he wasn't irreplaceable in my opinion. Cacok brings a different level of physicality than Williams even though he's shorter.

Eh, I’m just not impressed with Cacok, he seems to have about the same level of elevation as Williams (which isn’t much), but in a shorter body. I see him struggling hard against actual NBA competition, right now he’s ok against G-Leaguers and other rookies, but that doesn’t say much. I’m not upset about Williams, I just don’t really see how we replace what he brings at his price range at this moment, I don’t think Cacok is a better option, Williams at least had some continuity with a chunk of these players we brought back. I’m confident the FO can bring in a big if need be though, we did it last season with Chandler, I agree that Williams isn’t that good, but I also agree that he’s solid, and that’s what I liked about him, knew his role, went out and played it. Grabbed boards, made layups, blocked some shots.

I'll wait until I see Cacok in the pre-season (assuming he's even the replacement), but I think he's a little more versatile than Johnathan. I've seen Cacok grab and push the break, he fights on the glass. Neither are going to be difference makers.

Hell they may even give it to one of the shooters like Mathias or something.

Let's hope not. We've contributed enough already to the Southside retirement home. It's time we invest more toward the future .

How about some more depth/defense at the 3?

No we gave one of those 2-way deals to Norvell.

How are Norvell's handles? I have only seen two SL games and he has some turnover issues and picks up his dribble a lot, granted, he was being trapped a few times and I don't see a semblance of an offensive system with this group -- a bunch of thrown-together-last-minute undrafted players. He seems to have a little clutch confidence, which I like.

I keep saying Perkins because I saw him play live a bunch of times (and my Alma mater). He is fast, puts the ball on the floor, a good motor, and developed a little step back mid-range last season. Doesn't play above the rim like Zion or Randle, but a lot like them otherwise. And ball doesn't stick. I see huge upside with him practicing against AD, McGee, Bron, and Cousins. Hope he gets the other two-way.

Novell's handles definitely need work. He does a good job of getting his jumper off, but he struggles to consistently find ways to put the ball on the floor and drive. If you give him a little space he can work it well.

Perkins definitely looks like a 40 year old Randle on the court. All left hand, bully ball, not a lot of pop. Right now he's a G-Leaguer. He needs to improve that jumper and really focus on being a 12+ rebounds kind of guy who chips in 5 points, 3 assists, and rarely turns the ball over. That's his path to the NBA if he can do it.

No Korver. We have enough shooters. Need defenders. Iggy or Sefalosha?

Heard from little birdies (clients across the border) that Lowry wants out. No way the Raps simply buy him out. But they know he won't return next summer either. $33 million. Like with Russ. How could we get him mid-season?

Klutch - Draymond. Could he force his way here this summer?? Talk about a response to KL and PG. Bron, AD, and Dray.

If we could make something happen mid-season (lots of teams risking losing 2020 FAs for nothing) who would we prefer? Draymond or Lowry?

Draymond. I had a very similar thought with him. Now that the Warriors cap situation is tenuous around Russell, Curry, and Klay that leaves Draymond in a weird spot. He's the kind of guy who, if Boogie doesn't become our 3rd star, could really be an excellent running mate with Davis.

Agreed. He is at $16 million. That is doable. If he demands a trade here, with the Warriors risking losing him for nothing, I could see the Warriors ownership/management making it happen. Would cost us Kuzma though, likely.

Just sick of the Clips hype already. Would be silenced if Dray moved here. But with the signings, would have to be after December 15, right?

    Bron
    DG
    Iggy
    DG
    AD

    Mind blown. Lol

Lineups.com has an interesting look at rosters and lineups. Here are the top 10 players on rosters...and there are possibly some mistakes, mind you. It's not fully updated.

Clippers - George is too low, but Williams is too high; they go seven deep.
    Leonard 95
    George 89
    Williams 81
    Harrell 77
    Beverley 77
    Green 76
    Zubac 74
    Chandler 73
    Robinson 73
    Harkless 72

Nets - once Durant is healthy, they have an excellent 7-man rotation.
    Durant 98
    Irving 93
    Jordan 86
    Allen 78
    Dinwiddie 78
    Prince 78
    LeVert 77
    Harris 75
    Temple 74
    Musa 72

Lakers - James at 97 is crazy, and Kuzma's too high, but for what Green does, he's underrated. That's a solid 7-man rotation.
    James 97
    AD 95
    Cousins 85
    Kuzma 81
    Rondo 78
    KCP 77
    McGee 76
    Green 74
    Cook 73
    Dudley 72
    (Is Chandler on LA?)

Warriors - they lost serious depth
    Curry 95
    Klay 89
    Green 86
    Russl 83
    WCS 79
    Robinson 76
    Evans 73
    Looney 72
    Jones 69
    Poole 67

I would love to have that guy! He plays the game the right way (except for the nut kicking... poor Steven Adams!) but the vet leadership and I think with Draymond we would have the meanest most physical team in the NBA. I don't know how we could even possible entertain getting him unless GS just wanted to dump his salary but who knows...

I cant believe that Russell is going to be there long. Myers was just grabbing an asset that he can move at some point, probably when Kay is near to returning.
