Regardless of what happens with Kawhi, we should go after him. Keeps AD at the PF spot for longer amounts of time, he can potentially step up in load management situations, should try to play out of his mind so he can get a bigger contract...seems like a no brainer.

Hoping his relationship with AD helps get him over here. I think the 2nd year after a injury is when you really start to see players return closer to form.

Ok guys, any chance the Lakers use the cap space to go after Bradley Beal or someone like that? This is if the Kawhi deal falls through, of course.

You’re complaining about Dudley being old and you want Chandler? I like him, he’s a great teammate, but he crapped out early last season, he gave all he had to give and then he was done. I want McGee back, not Chandler.

I'd be fine with him back as our 3rd C/15th man. But there's a lot of other spots to shore up first, including three starters. A rotation of this would work at C..
    1) McGee or Cousins
    2) AD-even if he doesn't want to play C, he'll see some PT there when we go "small."
    3) Chandler.

But if you're wanting to monitor McGee's minutes, account for Boogie's annual suspension, AD's load management, or Chandler's back then you might want to go another route.

Can the Lakers re-sign McGee or KCP for more than the minimum if they sign Kawhi? Or do you have to re-sign your FA before you sign outside FA, hence not being able to go over the cap via Bird rights?

FA's Kawhi Melo and Carter... Or what do you see us doing with center outside of cusins McGee?

We can sign 1 of them for MLE or Min only. next year we get semi bird rights to McGee and full bird rights to KCP

There’s a chance OKC moves Adams, noel filled in well for them. I think cousins is lining up LA, whichever team misses on Kawhi might give him a 1 year 20 min kind of high reward deal.

Why would any team give boogie 20 mil when he can be had for at most 6 mil? I see no way that would be a high reward sorta deal. If you said 4 years 20 mil i would agree yet tell me where is the upside for a team to give him 1 year 20 mil if he sucks well you wasted 20 mils if he does good you get the pay off of a needing to pay him the next year or b him signing else where becuase you cant sign him

Always so sure of yourself. I can't believe you knew what I was thinking while I myself did not. With this skill, could you possibly tell us what Kawhi is thinking?

You hate Dudley because he’s old and fat and can’t shoot, but you want Melo...

The center options are thin, but there are younger, more able guys. I’d take a shot on Koufos, I’d be good with bringing Jonathan Williams back, I still think McGee is the best option though. I’m not opposed to Chandler as the pretty much last option, but he wouldn’t be where I look first or early on. Also, I’m not sure what’s going wrong when you’re quoting someone, but all you have to do is hit “reply” and that should be automatic. For some reason your replies are missing the first bracket in front of the first “quote” there, should look like this “[QUOTE” and then the rest as it is.

The reason I say that is because no one has signed him for 6 mil yet or given him the full MLE. If that’s all he can be had for, why didn’t anyone sign him? Some of these contracts are beyond awful in comparison to Cousins for 6m per. And no way a potential supermax player signs for 4/20. They’ll bank on recapturing their form to get the brink trucks rolling in.

There are plenty of contenders Cousins could have signed up for but he is waiting for the same thing Danny Green is. They want to know where Kawhi goes so they can get as much money from the left over teams as possible.

The reason anyone would give Cousins 10m + is the off chance he gets back to some semblance of top 20 form. If he does that, you go all in on him the following year. If he doesn’t you have a 20m expiring to use as trade bait for teams with disgruntled stars who need cap relief or worse case he just expires after a year and at least you rolled the dice.

Hence the low risk high reward play.
